LightsCastle offered to let me Review a few lights. I agreed as long as I could Mod them and give them away to the forum. A package, (LN088330208CN), is on the way.
I plan on Reviewing the stock lights and then I will Mod them. I am not saying what type of mods. I might just do a cosmetic mod, or change a driver, or a LED, but they will not be stock when I am done. Then I will give them away in the form of four BLF Giveaways...
I could not afford to do this without the kindness of LightCastle's gift box to me, which has other items in it as well as lights, but more on that later... You know I love to let y'all stew about it a little and with the Contest coming to an end, I won't be doing anything till that is over and done, so this is just a little teaser, to think about for a couple weeks.
I know these lights are coming for review:
- UltraFire C3
- UltraFire QQ168
- FandyFire S3
- FandyFire C108 IT IS A UNIQUEFIRE! Labeled wrong on the Website!
I feel it's really LightsCastle that is giving the lights away, as they are providing everything, so Thanks to them, for letting me do this.

Well, the package arrived today! That was the fastest shipping I have ever gotten from China.
The boxes are LightsCastle branded, so they must have bought a bunch of different sized boxes with their logo on them. Those boxes are thick and they stood up to the crossing, so maybe LightsCastle has a good idea there. The rest of the packaging was great as well. Nothing damaged at all. Oh, it looks like I have some 5% off Coupons... huh, smells like another giveaway.
Here's a list of everything I got:

I will start doing reviews over the next few days and then I will be modding the lights, so I have plenty to do for a while.
That's it for this teaser. I will start new threads for the reviews and the mods.

I wanted to do a quick summary for all four lights and the batteries and charger. It's something that seems to need to be put down, so here goes.
The batteries I got were:
UltraFire BRC 18650 4000mA
FandyFire 14500 900mA
Trustfire Flame 16340
Here's the as arrived voltages and the after charged voltages:
- UF BRC 18650 FF 14500 TF Flame 16340
- 3.65 & 3.62 3.50 & 3.55 3.77 & 3.77
- 4.13 & 4.13 4.12 & 4.11 4.12 & 4.11
I used the TrustFire charger and after four hours, neither the 18650 or the 14500 batteries had changed more than about 2 tenths of a volt, so I switched to my I4 charger and finished the charging in about 2 hours. I am not impressed with the TrustFire charger and while it does charge very slowly, I have a feeling it will time out before a full charge. It will be a giveaway.
I also wanted to give you the Amp readings (tail cap readings), from the four lights.
UltraFire C3 - I had to use a single AA NiMH. It would not work with a 14500. I tried several 14500 batteries and it will not work with them. I think it is an AA light and that the description is wrong, or else the driver is not right, but from the Amp readings, I would say it has a Boost driver for an AA battery. The Amp reading was 1.6 Amps. It is an On/Off light, with No Modes.
FandyFire C108 - It is NOT a FF light it is the UniqueFire C108. That is what I got in the box! Mislabeled by the seller. Not good... The Amp draw was SHOCKING! H 4.95 Amps / M 2.5 Amps / L .65 Amps. I was shocked at the 4.95 Amps, but I tested with two different batteries several times. It's correct.
FandyFire S3 - The Amp readings were H 1.7 Amps / M .72 Amps / L .34 Amps
UltraFire QQ168 - The readings were H 1.7 Amps / M .8 Amps / L .4 Amps
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I also want to show a comparison of the beams.
UltraFire C3
FandyFire S3
UltraFire QQ168
FandyFire C108
I want to keep the FandyFire S3 and that UltraFire C108 is a BEAST!
There will be more beam shots in the reviews.
