A question for HKJ: I picked up one of the little blue TP4056 charger boards with the intention of replacing the current-setting resistor in order to not subject smaller lithium cells such as the 10440 to large charging currents. Fat chance - the little tiny resistor on my version of the board is waaay too small for my soldering skills.

It would have been better if you asked the question in the thread about the TP4056 charger board.

One end of the small resistor is connected to the "IN-" pad, using that can make it much easier to use a leaded resistor in place of it.
