UV light to find lice?

Hi everybody!

(Asking for a friend…)

Not :stuck_out_tongue:

Does anybody on this amazing community have experience with finding/detecting lice (head lice on children) using a UV light? Would be really cool to be able to check lice status on the small kids without having to go through the hassle of using the special comb to find them (which rarely ever happens but schools are making a lot of noise)

Also, independent of if it actually works to find lice using UV light - does anybody have a good, high quality and powerful UV light to recommend? It’s kind of an unknown knowledge for me.

Thanks and Merry Christmas!

Never thought about that. I will check whenever my son gets them (thusfar he survived all lice waves in his school without getting them). What I do know is that skin flakes are fluorescent too so you may still have a hard time finding them.

The good high quality, high output (and affordable!) UV light is always the Convoy, now with even better led: https://www.aliexpress.com/store/product/Gray-Convoy-S2-LG-UV-365nm-flashlight-LEUVA33W70RL00-LED-7135-5-one-100-mode-zwb2-filter/330416_32955740360.html?spm=2114.12010608.0.0.727c7394sU4SDx

Make your child close his eyes when checking his head, the light is pretty dangerous for your eyes, even coming from reflections.
