Samsung 30Q warm when charging 1.5A

The 30Q datasheet says that standard charge is 1.5A and rapid charge 4A so I don’t think 1.5A should be causing the heat issue. I’ve charged a number of my 30Q’s at > 1A and they never got warmer than other cells charged at lower currents. Yup, datasheet info is precisely why I’m slightly concerned, hard to tell actual temperature, without a thermometer, but I’d say my hand scale is “freezing, cold, cool, ambient, slightly warm, warm (cosy warmth, like consumer electronics power supplies), h…

Post 10 I measured using a thermocouple held against the side of the cell.

I stand corrected about the consistency, the temperature difference seemed non-linear.
