Hello everyone, we are flashlight manufacturer, nice to see you at BLF

Welcome, I’ve seen a couple of your lights on AliExpress. I was wondering at the time who Vastlite was.

Welcome!

Yes, it’s our light. If you have any suggestions about them, please let us know

Tim, great review, thanks. We have recently introduced Bow brass, Bow SFT25R LED, and the upcoming Minima Bow, hope to hear your suggestion so that we can improve it better

Suggestion:
Every LEP light uses the same type of aspheric lens system, making them only useful as long-range toys.

With a “shine through” laser module (where the laser beam hits a diffraction grating and phosphor from the back), there’s no reason why a more adjustable focus system can’t be used.

I suggest making a LEP light with a truly adjustable zoom mechanism, similar to that found in the old Sipik 68. Use an aspheric lens mounted on a sliding bezel that allows the back of the lens to retract from its focal point to within a few mm of the top of the phosphor.

This would give you a light capable of a wide even flood suitable for close range, while also still having all the long-range capability common to LEP lights, plus the ability to illuminate anything in between those ranges.

This kind of mechanism is relatively simple to manufacture and can be used in very small lights like your Vastlite BOW flashlight.

It would fill a niche in the market.

  • Most LEP lights are fixed focus
  • The few zoomable LEPs on the market still only allow for a very narrow range of focus in the beam and are still only useful at long range.
  • To my knowledge, nobody has made a zoomable LEP flashlight with a range of motion in the zoom mechanism typical of older LED zoomies that allow the emitted light to turn from a spot to a wide flood.

With the relatively low lumens common to LEPs this wouldn’t be the greatest short-range flood light. But it would at least be useful at short and medium range.

we’ll look into it, thanks

Have you got a website at all? All the hits online are for stores selling your torches.

Welcome! I love seeing manufacturers on here talking to the community.
