Vector Power On Board 35W HID Spotlight

Thank you Ma_Sha, that makes a good deal of sense now.

Beamshots as promised. All these were taken on manual exposure 1.4 sec shutter f/4 ISO 200. Now you shall see what I was talking about going down to ISO 200 instead of 400.

Now I can tell you right now that I know for fact the halogen is underscored on this setting. But fair is fair. And since that is the case then the same can be said for the POB.

To me, it’s no comparison especially on the 300yd shot.

First up the challenger - Power On Board

PS - Rick you lose.

Now is that really how you see it in person? All of the pictures before these always showed the halogen alot brighter than it looks now.

I just explained that in my post that ISO 200 underscored the halogen by quite a bit. But then that would only mean the same thing for the POB HID. If I go to a ISO 400 or a slower shutter speed, the POB is only going to get a lot better as well and maintain its lead as it did at these camera settings.

POB is the king between these 2.

Hey brad,

I’m glad to see that you’re enjoying your new PoB light! One quick thing to note is that you aren’t getting the full power out of your halogen professionals fav if you’re running it off its own internal battery. Try hooking it up to a running vehicle via the 12v adapter port and 12v cig lighter cable that came with the light. Let me know if it looks brighter (and less yellow) to you at 13.8v  when your car is running.

First off all, that is not a POB. Second of all, that is way overpriced. Third, Brad wanted to find a POB and found one.

Sure it is...

Going to take some more photos of the Power On Board at some differnt settings.

Here’s a few more form the POB. Same settings as above but ISO 400.

Now look at this one on ISO 400 and compare it to the other one on ISO 200. This one turned out real good.

Now to put that last photo I posted in perspective with the halogen 120watt(taken on another nite but exact same settings) let's do a mouse over mouseout. 120 watt halogen mouseover and POB HID mouse out.

Here's a mouse over mouse out just to show you the difference in the POB with at manual exposure 1.4 sec shutter f/4 and ISO being the only difference between the 2 photos. Mouse over is ISO 200 and mouse out is ISO 400. Now I am just slightmore zoomed on the ISO 400 photo, but I think you shall see how much difference the 2 settings make between them. ISO 400 is gonna be a brighter photo.

Much better!!! I like ISO 400 it looks more of what you see to me.

Well I just found another HID sort of like this one that I think I am going to buy. I can’t pass up the price.

ILF, from your photos it looks like the 120W halogen spotlight lose but not by much.

Well I was going off the 220yds and 300yd shots. The 300yd shot of each on ISO 200 was a no brianer for me.

sorry if this has been posted already in this thread, just started reading it and didn’t have the fortitude to read the whole thing. the replacement batteries for the POB is a Sunnyway SW1270 Battery , about $12 plus shipping, a very common battery for ups replacement batteries. how do i know? i was cleaning out my corner flashlight/battery charger/power adapter,/etc/etc/ and lo and behold came across a POB that i had purchased way back in my cpf days. at the time they were incredibly cheap on ebay. battery is dead, attempting to charge it now but for 12 bucks i guess i can buy a new one.

Brad,

Glad you like it. I hope I’ll like the fishing rod I bought with the money just as much.

To everyone - feel free to PM me with offers on anything in the CPF “list your lights” post of mine (#320-ish I think). There’s a link to it in my CPF sig.

“Hey, that’s my kitchen”

I just used your pictures John. LOL!

Ok I just took some more photos with my new Fuji 2940 camera I just got today.

This first one is man 2 sec shutter f/4.2 ISO 100.

445yds

Up next is man 1.4 sec shutter f/4.2 ISO 400

445yds

Then we have man 1.4 sec shutter f/3.2 ISO 400

300yds

Next is man 1.4 sec shutter f/4.2 ISO 400.

300yds

And the last one we have man 1.4 sec shutter f/4.2 ISO 400.

220yds

The higher ISO didn’t seem to either want to focus as good or the extra noise made them appear more blurry.

I’ll have to take some more on another nite.
