Hi everyone, in this thread please remember to post only specific changes from vendors relating to pricing and shipping, not governmental policies. And please continue to avoid posting opinions, personal impact, and/or speculations about the tariff situation.

Thanks to everyone that has posted relevant news from vendors thus far in this thread. If any of those vendor decisions get changed or reverted in the coming days it would also be helpful if you could delete or edit your related previous news post(s) in this thread.

Emisar has restarted accepting US Orders with a $9.90 Tariff:

Below is an anecdotal experience from a member unrelated forum re: unexpected additional costs on goods arriving in the U.S. :

“…in regards to importing bicycle parts not available in the USA. …”

“UPS added $35 for fees on top of tariffs in the 20% range when ordering from England.”

“In all, +$91 on a $347 order”

“Bill came 3 weeks after the parts arrived.”

Vague, conflicting and / or non-existent tariff and shipping cost info on items shipped from China & elsewhere has recently and often prevented me from buying items wanted but not ‘needed’ with disposable income.

Is there a clearinghouse wherein U.S. tariff policies are tracked and published in near real time?

that quote is about importing from England.. and fees charged by UPS..

UPS does not get involved with my flashlight deliveries from China to USA.

Any tariff on flashlights ordered from China to USA, are listed in the itemized order costs, and get paid at the time of purchase:

there are no other fees at time of Flashlight Delivery from China to USA, and no after delivery fees either..

What you see on the Order Checkout Page is the Complete fee you pay at time of ordering from China to USA.

Someone in the ##flashlight IRC channel reported they had to pay $25 for the tariff and $17 DHL handling fee recently. (That’s similar to what we have to pay in Germany since 2021, actual service fee depends on carrier.)

I recently did the pre-order charger from Xtar’s site, and got to the “free shipping” threshold. There were no extraneous costs added on, so it’s a little concerning as to what will ACTUALLY happen. Allegedly the shipper is “Battery Channel SP”.

Have you had any experience with something like that?

was that a flashlight from China to USA?
and if yes, can we see the itemized bill at checkout?

lets not speculate

this is the complete cost of my most recent order from China to USA, an Emisar D2 (no tariff fee listed):

Hank’s site says:

I have Never been asked to pay Any tariff, nor handling fee, at time of Delivery of a Flashlight from China to USA.

The Only problem I have had is One order from Hank, dated June 20, 2025.. After it reached USA customs, it stayed there and Never got delivered.

I waited 45 days and then asked Hank for a refund, which he provided without any further questions.

1 Thank

It’s not paid at checkout. You get an invoice from the carrier or pay it directly at the door.

I’ll wait for a response from xtar. If no response by, let’s say Tuesday, I’ll assume that I’ll be responsible for unlisted charges as per their website, and cancel my order.

I ordered the exact same light for a slightly lower price but the shipping and tariffs fees were similar. I’ve been wondering if I’m going to get an additional bill for more tax later, but that would probably cost enough to send the bill and process the payment to make this counterproductive.

1 Thank

That has Never happened with Any Flashlight package Ive received from China to USA..

1 Thank

I’m not worried about it, but I won’t be surprised if it happens either.

The order I placed with Convoy for a T3 was under similar terms too and I’m not worried about it. Both companies said they would pay additional costs if they arose, the whole thing reminds me of the bill when staying in a motel with all the additional costs added under different names as fees, taxes, special taxes, charges etc… Last time I stayed at a motel they charged $2 for a safe I didn’t even touch. Guess they had to make up for the full cup of coffee I left with when I checked out.

this is what a recent Skilhunt H300 order of mine looks like..

there was No extra Fee at time of delivery:

None of my flashlights from China to USA was ever deliverd by DHL, nor UPS, nor Fedex

Usually USPS is the last mile delivery company.. they just drop the package in my mailbox

Recently Uni Uni made a final delivery.. they just dropped the package on my doorstep

Neither USPS nor UniUni, has ever asked me to pay a fee at time of delivery.
