very strange xml.

on another flashlight forum someone asked a question, what led is it?

he bought c8 with led, that seller claims is xml2, however, it does not look exactly like xml2.

it has die that is like xml2, with tiny dimples not lines like xml, and has 2 bond wires just like xml2, not 3 like xml, however the base is green just like xml.

has anyone ever come across led like this?

There are some really good fakes out there…

Yeah, someone posted a link just a few days ago to a China manufacturer advertising “looks-kinda-likes” imitating LEDs from quite a few companies.

The lottery is strong.

You mean Postings #156 and #158 here: Bestfire soup can, I gave in.. (edit: fake XP-L's, see from post #22 on)

Basically a fake LED. The era of cloning and scamming with "CREE" LEDs is here.

Yep, fake. They are clearly not of the original stock.

Sadly makes buying discounted torches even more a risk.

can you provide the link to the shop sowe can avoid it ?

No, these are being sold in most, if not all, of the lights we bought back a few years ago. Any "XM-L T6" light that is being offered now has these fakes. I've had 3. A vendor having old stock might be the only exceptions.

I see four stripes, like this http://www.latticebright.com/En/cpzs1/2015-05/12/NewsView-176.html

Wow their XM-L2 copy is very convincing… http://www.latticebright.com/En/cpzs1/2015-05/12/NewsView-179.html

You cannot expect clones to be regulated and respect a standard. But anyway there must be more than one company making clones.
