Howdy. Just received this light from Banggood and figured I’d make a video review. For $5 it’s pretty decent, better than the SK68 in my opinion. Biggest downside is the purple tint of the led, but I’ll be de-doming the emitter so it’s not a huge issue. I may also try baking the light to change the color of the anodizing. Anyone have experience doing this?
Nice review
Check out the “what did you mod today” thread. Al lot of examples of baking, just remove all including orings that can be hard to spot being black on black, and put the parts on the flames of your stove. Takes a couple of minutes to change the color, grey being the end station. (Going from reddish, bronze, copper, orange copper)
nice review
only bummer is that the ultrafire has a much wider zoom spot
Since most of us buy it for the throwing part this is sort of a deal breaker for me
since the lense is about the same size i do not get it why the spot is so much bigger when they have the same led inside.
Thanks, The Miller. I checked out that thread, lots of cool stuff there. Found another related thread with some more info. I guess I’ll have to give it a go this weekend.
My Sipik clone was “Baked” using a Benzomatic Micro Torch and turned out ok.
If you want to also do the cap…Pull off the rubber cover and I used a Bic Pen - removed the ink chamber and the Ballpoint Tip and use the hollow pen to push the switch out of the housing.
Once everything is apart, put your parts onto an old screwdriver and use your Benzo to heat up the parts to obtain the required tint, and reassemble….! First time and I was surprised at the result

Good Luck with the project…!
