Found this one on Ebay, I thought it could be an interesting first vintage light.
It's smaller than I imagined, see the AA Eneloop for size reference.
I can't find any reference to it on the web other than a 1950s Pifco brochure
I'm not even too sure which batteries it requires, although a couple of RCR123a would fit nicely. LED mod coming on I think... The paper insert reads 'Remove cardboard cover of Bijou battery and insert cells as indicated'.
Sorry for the crappy pictures, that's down to me using a crappy camera.
Any suggestions on what to do with this? It's surely fate that it takes a couple of lithium batteries perfectly. With that rusty metal sliding switch and metal case, it'll make a good hand grenade when the batteries short out.
That's pretty neat! Looks like you could make a new one from an Altoids tin. Would be cool to see a pic of it next to an Altoids tin for size comparison. :)
Put in two CR123 primaries and get a 4 cell bulb from your local hardware store and you should be good to go!
Use a little white vinegar to clean up the rust.
Here are some pics of my Vidor torch, 'empire made' I run it un-modded on a single 18700 protected. First effort here with pics just copied url at photobucket using computer tree symbol here so we'll see what happens!
