(VOTE)Sofirn IF24 --- which spotlight LED do you pick? SST40 or SFT40

Yup, SFT40, though the warmer the tint, the better (for me).

SFT40 is always better than SST40. In general, an SST40 is a minus towards me buying a light.

If you sold it with SST40 I would just be upset because I’d need to swap it to sft40

Better tint uniformity. More modern emitter, brighter in my experience, more intensity (throw)

@Sofirn

SFT40 of course and it would be REALLY nice if you could also offer a model with the SFT40 3000K High CRI version.

3 Thanks

Yes!!!

SFT40 5000K is perfect!

I would pick SFT40!

SFT40, obviously.

Any pictures of the IF24 you want to share with us?

1 Thank

SFT40 95CRI 3000K HD2 or similar.

2 Thanks

SFT40 every time. 5000k or even 3000k.
I have the 3000k one in another light and it is excellent!

I would also definitely prefer SFT40, especially the warmer 5000K or even 3000K (though this one would have slightly narrower appeal I think, not everyone likes warm tints in everyday use)

2 Thanks

I just ordered IF24 on aliexpress:

It looks like sst40 in the product picture:

Could you please clarify if this is a picture of the emitter that is shipping and if so, why you are not using SFT40?

1 Thank

I think SST-40 are just cheaper.

Hi, JME,
we also have IF24S version,
IF24S uses SFT40 5000K, buck driver
IF24 uses SST40 6000K, fet driver

10 Thanks

Great to hear! . The moment the IF24S becomes available I’m getting one!

2 Thanks

That is nice - making a cheaper option for non-enthusiast mass market who just want low price and many lumen, and a more expensive buck driver/enthusiast LED option for us - thanks sofirn!

IF24S will be a must-buy for me, I was tempted by the IF23 and excited and then disappointed by the SST40 in the IF24.

1 Thank

The ironic part is that the output likely won’t be that different, although the 24S will cost more, no way around that as it’s just more expensive components.
