Looks like a great EDC for stealth pocket carry
In for High CRI S2 Dual White
Just something I forgot to ask: does the V2 have brightness stepdown based on the flashlight’s temperature, or is it timer-based?
Ok, Flashaholic posted his review and it’s not pretty, actual lumen numbers are way off manufacturer’s claims.
low mode - 10 lumens claimed - 4 lumens measured
med mode - 120 lumens claimed - 85 lumens measured
high mode - 350/250 lumens claimed - 222 lumens measured
turbo mode - 1600/300 lumens claimed - 870/511 lumens measured
Turbo mode is literally half of the claimed lumens, even the more efficientSFT-25R wouldn’t help here.
Has Kevin VTiger responded to this review (especially the underperforming turbo mode)?
Hi Kevin,
Any update on this?
In for HIGH CRI S2 DUAL WHITE
Thanks for the giveaway. I’m in!
Over the last couple years I’ve purchased a bunch of similar flat flashlights. Unfortunately, I consider most of them too large for EDC. They also often have features I don’t need, like a laser.
Your S2 looks great. Finally a small flat flashlight with forward button that isn’t a keychain light. And there’s a high-CRI version. Excellent!
Question: What emitter do you use in the high CRI version?
The bezels look press-fit, but if they have a lip that overhangs the body it might be possible to work them out.
Olight Arkfeld Ultra has a press-fit bezel, but I’ve emitter swapped mine several times without any serious damage to the finish. The trick is to insert the edge of a bare utility knife blade into the gap between the bezel and body and then tap it into the gap with the back of a pliers or wrench. The blade should go in like a wedge and lever up the bezel. Repeat the process as you work all the way around the bezel until it eventually comes free. On a new light, it might take 20 minutes of repeated tapping. Once the gap is big enough, lever it off the rest of the way with a flat screwdriver. Perhaps the same process might work on the S2.
From the description, the S2’s size, output and UI are all very appealing to me. The LEDs could be a bit better though. 6500K is a bit cooler than I prefer.
I’d love to get one of these lights in dual-white and then replace the LEDS: Maybe double-NTG-35 in 5000K. Or perhaps for a brighter hotspot one SFT25R combined with one NTG35 both in 5000K neutral white.
The campaign ends on the 12th January and they said the GAW will happen afterwards “After the campaign is over, Winner will be picked randomly with your comment number.”
Read the trail of messages. I was asking about the promised changing of emitter choice for backers - not the GAW.
Oh, sorry, didn’t notice You were replying to a particular message, cheers
Hi NBLights, we have sent a new light to Flasholic, now waiting for him to make an update, groupbuy will be hold on till we have a positive result from Flasholic review.
We will draw a GAW winner when the project ends, so if you have interest to try to your luck, put down your comment.
This is the first flat flashlight that interest me since a long time. The compact format and high CRI led are the most interesting features for me.
How about the high cri emitter choice?
Dear BLF friends,
We will make the High CRI equipped with SFT25R 5700K in Titanium color, now it is available on Kickstarter, only 50pcs available, still have 3 days left, watch the time. For those of you who show your interest can go for it with the link below. Enjoy it.
