Do anyone think it would make sense to ask Simon to make and sell a new version of the Convoy S2+ with triple Cree or Nichia LEDs?
If it’s equipped with triple 5000K Nichia 219B-VT and ToyKeepers firmware I would buy it immediately. In green with 18350 tube it would be my new EDC.
There are folks on the forum here who build those triples for resale quite regularly. I think you’ll have a hard time convincing simon to do it just because it’s so much more likely to have problems. I accidentally left one of my triples unattended on turbo for just a few minutes once - it melted the carclo optic and burned my hand when I picked it up. Most companies don’t want that sort of liability, and I’m not really sure they should be so easy to buy by just anybody who thinks they want one.
Also thanks for the kind words on my photos above. I’ll definitely be picking up a green shorty tube and of course any new color that comes out. I think I’d probably do another triple in a desert tan. That sounds like something I’d want to actually carry and use, so it would be a departure for me from my colored colored collection. If he builds a purple though I’ll have to get creative on an emitter choice.
I think triples should really use a Toykeeper’s bistro firmware which has an overheat stepdown (requires attiny25/45/85).

Well said on all fronts. A stock Convoy triple is not in the immediate future. I’m not saying that it will never happen but I don’t see it happening in next year. Plenty of other advancements to focus on. 
For now if you’re looking to buy a pre-built triple emitter light you should be talking to Richard at Mountain Electronics aka RMM.
I think a S2+ triple would be a tough sell. $20-35 in additional components alone. I have a feeling it wouldn't sell well with the $40+ price point.
Maybe a new tube light designed for the triple mcpcb+ optic to reduce machining costs/build time and get it under $30

LOL! You know we were all wondering if this would also work on the A6 to replace the junk clip that they shipped with it. Does it fit well on it?
I have some on the way but they still may be a week out so I have to ask you what you think of it instead of posting my own opinion. 
I must ask though, since you are posting this in the green S2+ thread and I see a bunch of the clips I helped design sitting right next to your green S2+… For crying out loud PLEASE put it on that green light and post a picture! Preferably on the lower mounting position on the tail cap that best shows it’s deep carry position.
First impressions on convoy deep carry clip:
-Executed the right way ! Great quality and feels real nice. It’s sturdy, fits nice and tight up against S2/A6. It’s definitely 100x better than the A6 clip. The clip gives a good “snap” when removing from jeans and should have enough space to slide over thicker jeans. I really like these clips, J-Dub and Simon did their thang on these! Olight had better step their deep carry clip game up or price down to compete lol
-Only thing I would have liked to see would be a “slide lip” (don’t know what to call it) like the A6 to help the jean slide to the top. It could prevent some catching of the jean not allowing it to go to the top. Still a top notch clip and this probably wouldn’t matter to most but I thought I’d bring it up with some super nit picking concerns. points finger to guys using another flashlight to find imperfections in anadozing lol

Are the colored S2’s the only ones with the metal switch?
I like the look of the grey S2+ and the metal switches, so a grey s2+ with the metal switch would be great.
Yes. In the S2+ model, the piston switch is only found on the colored lights. You can find it on some other “plain” Convoys, however, like the black BD04 which uses that metal switch as a connection for a charger.
J-Dub, since its come up again, I’ve actually been meaning to ask if simon has any intention of doing the black or gray S2+ with the metal switch. It seems odd to me that they haven’t been changed over as well. I think they’d sell very well with the steel piston switch.
I’ll be talking to him about it. I agree. For the grey model though I think it should have the new black metal switch I’m trying to talk Simon into. The same black metal switch I want for the desert tan S2+. On both those colors I think the combo of a black switch, black clip and black lanyard are going to be show stealers!
