What are you listening right now ?

Some post-rock from Sweden…

the original…

i bet that most of you never heard about Hem

for me that is most undervalued band ever (though, of course, each of you have it`s own list) besides Hieronimus Bosch which is awesome russian technodeath metal band.

awesome voice and melodies

`ve been fan of them in like last 15 years

good stuff to listen to when you sitting in countryhouse garden and drinking some tea

In a glass, with lemon, right?

Yeah, I saw “Dr Zhivago”.

This song wasn’t Russian technodeath metal, though. Different?

Sounds pretty kewl, though!

no, dont like lemon. it makes feel i need extra couple of tea. i prefer some smoky lapsang souchong. and then polish it with glass of moonshine. or vice versa )

btw, see that you`re from NY, HEM are from this city as well.

that is most soft and melodic band i can remember of, besides, perhaps Simon and Garfuncel.

Hieronimus bosch released a couple of albums, but one of them , "artificial emotions" is a masterpiece of genre. there were few metal bands that could perform on the level of world known bands, HB is one of them

here is link in case you like that sort of music

46min long… I gotta go to bed first.

Tomorrow…

Good stuff - reminds me of Hidden Orchestra.

If you by aura again :person_facepalming:

Roy Buchanan - Hey Joe (Live From Austin TX)

There's a "bite" in the way Roy plays his Telecaster that creates an urgency unlike any other guitarist.

Said one YouTuber: "My Telecaster doesn't sound like this. Have to return it."

I Don’t Like Mondays. by The Boomtown Rats. I never hear this played anywhere. There’s a real event behind it that most people don’t know. They took down the original video that accompanied it. Although you can still find the video on other channels but the quality is not as good

Mmm, pretty good version of it on Bongiovi’s “One Wild Night” (awesome album, fwiw), too. Kinda of a duet of him and Geldof.

Not quite the version on OWN, but close enough…

Oh yeh, after the shooting, the cop was asking the gril, “Tell me why [you did it]?”, and her reply was simply “I don’t like Mondays.”, hence the song’s name.

Oh, here we go…

Oh Happy Day

Gentle Giant - "On Reflection" 1978 BBC TV Show "Sight and Sound"

Here is an outstanding performance by prog-rock masters Gentle Giant. It starts out as a modal Elizabethan piece played on classical instruments, but then morphs into a hard rocker filled with delicious hooks.

Edited on 2023-Mar-24: Found this remastered version, upscaled to 1024p, so I thought it worthwhile to update the link here.

Admittedly, Gentle Giant is something of an acquired taste, but if you're a prog fan or metal head who likes virtuoso performances, you should check them out. It's not so much that they can play faster and cleaner than other musicians (they can't). What makes them special is their composition and arrangement. It's head-and-shoulders above even top-tier progressive rock bands. They know and apply more music theory than any rock band I know of.

Here is the studio version of "On Reflection," from the 2021 remix by Steven Wilson. It is quite different from the live version, and probably better!
