The Sipik zoomer? It has an OSRAM, pretty nice for the price. The Powerlight? It has a blob of glowing putty. Actually has a beautiful beam profile and warm tint, though.
The chinese emitter is a 100% hit or miss as far as tint goes ..i think there is someone lighting them all up and tossing 90% of them in the purple bin to sell them at cost plus a nickel on ebay .the two that match modded had nice tints and I wanted to scream NO !! you won the tint lottery and found the two buttery yellow tints out of 20,000 ..i'm sure he saved them and will sell them to me really cheap :P
Actually, these cheap silver colored Powerlights consistently come with a buttery yellow tint. Surprisingly nice.

the pill on this 6.65$ light is heavier than an aluminum mag wheel ..It's begging to be modded but in stock for out throws a mrv lunapower . you can pound nails with this light or beat a guy to death ..serious thrower ..
the black and decker light floods throws clamps 2 modes and swivels it's head in any position you can imagine comes with a monster magnet takes 3 AA batteries and even comes with them ..q5 130 lumens ..
Meritline has the gray SIPK68s for $8.99 right now. I have gotten at least a dozen of the black ones from them for $8.99 and they were all good took 14500s and all ended up being taken by friends. I haven't got a single one left. I am waiting for the black ones to come down from $9.99 to $8.99 before I order a couple more. I usually re-tap the threads for the clips and put a metric allen in there before I sell them.

I like inexpensive lights but at a certain point I find that very small cheap stuff is likely to be more appealing (to me) than larger cheap stuff. I have a whole drawer of the latter.

E, I got a Sipik (not clone) from ebay real cheap via auction. The guy sells them for $7.96 shipped BIN. The seller has the wrong gallery picture on the listing. It's a picture of a TDS meter..lol. The description has the correct pictures and the title is correct. I emailed him to tell him and he has yet to change the pic. He sells both black and silver. The silver one has the correct gallery pic.

Even though I'm not a big fan of aspheric lenses, of all the lights I have under $8.00, the BEST (read quality, looks and brightness) is the Sipik SK68.
Bryan, you would like this light based on quality and brightness. I can't believe you don't have a Sipik (or a clone).

I’m no expert but in my opinion you’re missing out on good lights. The Sipik SK68 is the obvious one. I also have the AAA MXDL 3W and am amazed by the light it puts out.
I had one but gave it away. I don't like zoomies. I agree that for the price it's a good deal but the beam is just too ugly as is the light. For that price I'd rather have a 1 AAA keychain light although I don't have one of those at that price either.
The button keychain lights are good for what they are and that's what appeals to me. Being good for what they are rather than just cheap.
One year ago i was sold on the looks on that sipik. Since then i sold over 30... to all who asked me to sell mine.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder of course. I think the Sipik looks great, like a mini light saber and no problems with the beam. It is brilliant for what it is not just good!
