Different people see differently… literally. It’s not the brain, or conditioning. It’s just normal diversity. They’re not wrong, and there’s nothing wrong with them; people simply come in many different flavors and it’s a beautiful thing.
Even an individual person has changes to their vision throughout life. Like, what looks bright white now may look dim and yellow in 40 years even though the color itself hasn’t changed.
Fortunately, LEDs come in many flavors too. It’s cool that each person can get lights suited to them.

An extra clip-in bracket turns it into a quick drop in bicycle helmet light. On a bike the dial is a blessing. Even turning ‘off’ can be done with it - just turn it to Moon red.

Good to see a Novatac still knocking about. They might be a little outdated by today’s standards, but it’s certainly unique.

Potted and Polycarbonate Lens makes it a reliable emergency light.

Being a reviewer distorts things a bit.
The light I used for the most time in the past week is easy though: my Convoy S21E bike light (B35AM 4500K, 20x65 striped TIR). The other two are review samples I’m not going to disclose just yet, but one is an 18650 EDC light with high CRI and the other is a multifunction light.
I’m still conceptualizing a good replacement for the signal/spring system…I really want to put a freeman driver in there, probably a modified Anduril 2 with a novatac-esque subset to replace either SimpleMode or its own subset using 15C, and bumping the reset to 25C or something.
But having the switch at the tail introduces no small issue…how do I make it clean but functional?
What TIR lenses would fit the S21E? Is that a drop in replacement?

Am I correct that they may work only with certain LEDs? I’m confused.

I think the TIRs you linked will work with all the LEDs offered in the S21E, however some focus better than others with certain LEDs. The 20x65 focuses the best out of the striped TIRs with the B35AM.

DM11 (21700) w/ Nichia B35AM R9080 3500K
Great light, used for outdoor activities.
Living in the city not much long range needed so this mid range big spot thrower is perfect.
B35AM in 3500K from Hank has such a gorgeous lightly warm tint for outdoors.
Least used out of the bunch. -
Fenix E15 (CR123 / 16340) w/ Nichia 219B 9080 4500K
Small reliable twisty edc, used around the house and with headband for handsfree.
Smooth close to midrange beam with the classic rosy HCRI tint.
The very small size and the ability to use rechargeable as well as primaries makes this a perfect backup carry to any light. -
D4K (21700) w/ Nichia 219B 9080 quad 2700K/4500K
New favorite light, most used. This has become my edc carry. Lots of light, lots of runtime.
Used around the house, work, anywhere and perfect lighting for amateur photography (iPhone).
Lights up everything with smooth floody beautiful HCRI beam.
Really couldn’t ask for a better light!

Of late, my three most used lights are:

Reylight Penlight in copper frag, with the best led, 219b 4500k. That’s what I would’ve swapped into it anyway, but in Oct (?) Rey had a sale and I couldn’t resist. Didn’t know it had a 219b until I got it. absolutely one of my favorites, and now even more so after upgrading to fwd switch.

Kinda tie between the DW4K Lume1 219b 4500k, and the Armytek Wizard C2 Pro Nichia Warm (what a name). I had the OD green 3000k version for a year, and recently got a black 4500k one.
beam is very nice (144ART?), reminds me strongly of B35AM 4500k. either way the Wizard is the better light imo. absolutely perfect headlamp. I’ve gotten 8+ hours straight use from my 3000k one, battery was only at 3.7v after.
- FW3B with Anduril 2, Zhu hybrid mule optic, and I recently swapped out the dedomed 519a 2700k for what Simon sold me as “219b 1800k.”
They look extremely similar to the 519a (white, not gray, and taller emitter base/substrate, larger dome) and nothing like the 219b at all, except they aren’t 519a, because the die/les is much smaller, like the 219b. definitely 1800k warm rosy Nichia goodness. I’ve seen nothing about a 219b v2, and cannot find any information about a supposed 1800k 219b anywhere.
Either way the light is very nice, I use it on candle mode every night. super warm, warmer than a real candle I think. I have a crenellated bezel, and I’d put my brass button in except I lost it.

The 1800K 219 is a 219F. If you look in the bin list the last entry is NVSW219FT, aka 219F (the “sm18” part refers to the 1800K CCT). It’s a bit confusing that he lists all the 219 emitters mixed up like this
wow, I definitely missed that. All I know is that it definitely wasn’t a 219B or 519a. I have some pretty nice 219C 4000k in an LM10.
I believe the only light I had with a 219f was an acebeam pokelit (5000k?), nice light, but both versions I had completely crapped out on me and acebeam’s warranty is worthless. that’s 3 for 3 of their lights I’ve had that broke. Sorry for the ADHD rambling tangent, I’m still salty cause the brown Maratac P16 was one of my favorites.
So I just didn’t look at the description/specs cause I was in a big hurry to get the order placed cause it was mid-late April and I’m in the US.
Anyway, the emitters are actually very nice. I only replaced the 519As cause they started to burn out from turbo usage or something. the 1800k is much nicer. I need a better hotplate to finish swapping my Sofirn LT1 to 519A 5700k and FFL351A 1800k.
Again not sure why I always type way too much and give unneeded/unnecessary info, but thanks again!

All good. I’ve not tried the 219f but if you like the 1800K emitters I’d recommend the fireflies 3535 domeless one
I use the red light to wake up my retinas daily, also for pain relief.
I have been using the little Zebra as a nightstand light, and for indoor EDC. It has a good clip and nice handfeel
The MAO TS10 is a long time personal favorite for indoor EDC. I also use it as a modding light, and it is excellent as a nightstand light too.
