What did you use your flashlight for today?

Used it last night to change headlight bulb on my car in the middle of nowhere.

Car manufacturer made it really hard to change, and in the dark almost impossible.

Used my Olight S2 CU with silicon diffuser to illuminate my bitchin Ganzo Carbon G753 and Mac’s EDC SST50 photo.

That’s a nice finish on those Olights, especially the largest one. What method did you use to make the patina?

I’ve gotten pretty good results from Palmolive, light polishing, then just holding it in my hand overnight.

Very easy process … Hard Boiled Egg.

Easy process: 2 hard boiled eggs, smashed, inside a baggie with the light for 8 hours. Cover the body with finely chopped egg and remove excess air from baggie and seal

Looks great.

Okay, had a hunch it might have been the egg method. Somehow it never turns out well when I’ve tried it, but other people get pretty nice results.

The last one I tried eggs on was this…

… and after using a different method, it looks like this: (logo isn’t gone, just on the other side)

One modded Convoy and Nitecore Tube, two nights on friends cottage. On a nice starshine night without moon, Nitecode Tube on low gets much done….

Make sure the CU body to be treated is bare / raw and completely free of any oils. The egg must come in direct contact with unoxidized surface.

Once again to find the flashlight i wanted
Also to test its abilities (for review purposes)

Yeah. IIRC, I soaked it in acetone for 24 hours first, rinsed it off, dried it, and put it in with the eggs without ever actually touching it… and left it with the eggs for about 48 hours. I’ve tried other copper items too though, and the best egg result I got was mediocre.

This is a few days late, but I finally had a power outage long enough to make good use of my flashlights.

I used my headlamp to mod 3 flashlights…
Hey, I gotta justify all those lights laying around

Used BLF-340 this morn to inspect
between toes. :confounded: :stuck_out_tongue:

I use my ArmyTek Wizard Pro to cut my toenails. I know it’s gross, but it is what it is

well my limintop SDmini turned up today so in went a Panasonic NCR 18650 B 3400mAh and

away we went out to the farm for some pest control under the spotlight and all I can say is it’s a

damn good torch to have on the belt for looking for stuff in the grass and such .

very happy .

cheers D

I usen my Lumintop Ti. Tool as a candle in the bathroom.

HAHA

Originality, and real world issues. LOVE it!!

I used my skilhunt h03 and klarus xt12gt for a search and rescue training in a high current river crossing and caving activity. Both survived the harsh water current of the river, their waterproofing is amazing.

I live in a very rural, dark area, so thieves like to be up to no good at times. Dog alert

Neighbor at work kicks out the router cable, my IP addy gets screwed up, can’t vpn in from home anymore, network guy is grubbling through the cables under the desks with his phone as a flashlight, I daylight the under-desk area with my ’502. Zowie!

Convoy L6

Last night I heard some noise out the front of my next door neighbour’s house and from my upstairs bedroom spot lighted some 16-17yr olds just as they egged their house

You should have seen them scatter like rabbits once I gave them a blast from the L6 !

The funny thing was my neighbours were that scared to come down to answer my knock on their door that they called the police because there was a strange guy outside shining a light into their bedroom. In hindsight I should have called them on their cell phones first.

2 station cars respond and find me outside with this big ass light (lucky I don’t live in LA because I actually had a chance to tell them who and what I was doing instead of just jumping me)

Anyway it was half a dozen of their son’s school mates who were playing a prank on him

The good news was the cops fell in love with the L6 and wanted to know where to get one. Their standard issue torch was so lame !
