What does each lense do?

I ordered some lights from gadget connection and he has a lot of choices for the lense but I really don’t know what each version is supposed to do. For example what is the difference between a flat 10°and a bead 10°. Is there any thread that explains what each lense will do or should do? I prefer long throwers but if I don’t know what each one should, how can I know which one I should use.

It has to do with the beam pattern. You will have to experiment to learn more. Same like driving, you cant learn how to drive by watching someone drive.

Lucky for us there are many cheap flashlights and we can experiment without much of a financial investment.

the flat is a thrower, the bead is a diffused beam

the optics are usually very inexpensive, your could buy both kinds and swap them into the light to decide your preference

for the flat I would pick 10° for maximum throw distance
for the beaded I would pick 30° for a nice close range evenly diffused beam

I understand that. It’s basically understanding angles. Thanks

You can absolutely learn how to drive by watching someone. Driving well or safely is a “whole notha story”.
…ahhh yes, as long as you are in the vehicle watching is valuable.
