What is the best host for red and green colored XP-E2's?

What is the best single 18650 host to run colored XP-E2 emitters. Red and green XP-E2’s will be no Noctigons. How many amps can they safely hold? Any red or green emitters better than the XP-E2 for throw. Wanting to get the most throw I can without a pencil beam like the Jacob A60. Thinking a C8, will the reflector work with an XP-E2?

I just put a red xp-e2 at 1.9A into an hs-802 and I think it turned out OK. I probably could have done a better job mounting it but I wanted it quick and simple. I was informed that it would maybe run better at 1.4A so you may want to start there. Not as bright as my modded T20 but I am happy with it.

I’ve done red XP-E2’S in Uniquefire T20’s and a Jax z1. Pick your poison, better build quality and throw, or much less expensive with nearly the same output.

I haven’t done a fixed reflector with a colored LED yet, no advice there.

c10 has good throw, i had one with xp-e2 on copper driver to 2.8amps ,it was fan.

The C8-type reflector has worked well for me; I built up a green thrower using an XR-E and a host with a C8 reflector and it worked really well:

I've built a couple of throwers using green XR-E and green XP-E emitters and drove both of them at 1.4A using the Nanjg 101AK with no issues.

If you want a versatile light to run different emitters in, the Solarforce M3 is easily modded. You can unscrew the pill from the back of the reflector and put a regular P60 pill in with whatever you want.

My own has XM-L, red and green XP-E’s @ 1.4A and an XP-G2 @ 2.8A.

The green XP-E in particular gives a very defined hot spot and good throw.

I’ve done C8’s, they were OK but IMO the M3 is better, and you can switch things around as needs be.
