Years ago I learned to work on what people value. (not for a hobbie of course)
Maybe If “normal folks” who dont want (as in did not get one for onesself) or dont appreaciate them maybe the best thing we can do is to not get the a light.
I know it sounds crazy, but think about it,… what better way to either build an appraciation (maybe when they remimber next time they want one) or the concept of flashlight just does not show up for them (in which case wrestling over what kind to get them, is … wasted effort).
Nah. The world is changing too fast for anyone to keep up with everything.
The mass marketers of crap are pushing everyone to take what they want to sell.
The “poorly made in China” slow degrading of products that began good is a sickness.
People have to cooperate — and flush out deception — to recommend what’s good.
What’s good can change very fast.
That’s a good point. But I have family members who don’t like blue leds, but probably won’t want to bother with li ion or looking for a light. so it’s a good idea at times.
I’m surprised that the SK68’S arent on the list. Here’s a thread about gettinga solid pill:
That takes it right out of muggle territory. A light or charger with a built-in status display of some sort is a better fit for most people. On the flashlight itself, a colored LED to indicate full/half/near-dead is about perfect. For a charger, the indicator lights on the latest ML-102 are about perfect.
That is a great idea PD! I like it I’ve been on the lookout for so long but trying to keep the costs under $10 because I surely can’t afford a bunch of $30 as gifts
EDIT: If you could add the estimated MSRP/price in brackets besides each light would be great!)
