What is your favorite dog breed? (with pics)

Okay, you got me.

Why do you have Insecticide listed twice?

i like all dogs that are bigger than a cat, i had 5 dogs in my lifetime, all different and every one was special, when i was born, my parents had a GSD, i grew up with it, then we had 2 mutts, picked them on the street, one was 50lb other 70, after them i had a pit, and after the pit i had a brittany spaniel for 14 years, he died about a year and a half ago, i wanted another dog but my wife wanted a kid, so we got a 7mo old kid now, and a 6 years old cat, i’ll get another dog once our son grows up a bit, i have no idea what breed it will be, or where i’ll get one.

here is the pic of my last dog.

My Dad had a Brittany. Wonderful family pet. Worst retriever ever. Ranged far ahead of us, flushing everything out of shotgun reach.
“Cindy, You Sumbitch!!”
Wounded a crow one day and she was savaged by the evil creature until she retreated to the pickup bed nursing her paws.

Around here, we don't have crows.

We have ravens, which I think are even bigger.

I wouldn't want to mess with them.

In some of the Resident Evil games, there are crows, and if you mess with them, they'll off ya.

We have ocean rats here (seagulls) I watched them attacking/eating swallows nesting under the Isaac Lee Patterson Bridge.

I have a cross between a Shih Tzu and an English Bulldog , It’s called a Bullshits

Check the spelling...

Favourite breed… The Dobermann….

My boy (RIP)…

My current girls…

Current dog a toy poodle

That looks like an Australian Shepard. Very nice dog.

One of my favorites is an American Eskimo (the “white dog”). I’ve known 2 of them so far, one briefly the other for a number of years. Such a wonderful disposition. This is a dog who, for the most part, just presumes everyone is friendly. And most people are, because the dog is irresistible. The only problem: shedding.

For a long while, I never really liked the look of the Boxer—thought of it too much like the Doberman Pinscher (which I was deathly afraid of as a small boy, because we had people on our street who owned them & they LOVED to growl at kids walking by). But I got to know one and it’s such a fun, clever dog. You do right by them and they will love you forever. Their bodies can look amazing, very visible muscular structure, if you work ’em out enough.

Mini Aussie
aka Amerian Shepherd

Ah. So this is a selective breed of the Aussie one that is known in USA? A friend of mine has one and she’s about the size of a typical Labrador.

Apache is a male about 32 pounds. (and yes he sheds :frowning: )
a bit much for a lapdog

Had a few.
Most faithful and actually the Smallest was the last one.
an English Bull Terrier crossed with an English Bull Mastiff.
43kg of pure muscle.
He used to walk my daughters kids on the beach when young.
Nobody ever pestered them and he’d lick anybody that came close enuff.
To death.
Lived on my yacht with me.
He loves chasing the Dolphins when sailing.
Running back and forth along the side deck.
I made up a harness for him. Out of a cut down to fit with extra strapping,
life jacket.
With a large. standing up plastic handle sewn into top centre.
So I could scoop and lift him back onto the deck with the boat hook.
When he forgot and overran the bow. It was bright yellow and red.
Splash… DAAAD…. Help.
It had a small, personal, Water activated PLB on there too.
Prick used to go over at night too sometimes.

I was a distance runner most of my younger life (Till 49yrs. Accident)
Had 2 x English Pointers.
one following tóther.
They would come on a 20/30km run with me, but not the long ones.
Bitumin too hard and sharp for their paws.
Just loping along Hardly ticking over.
Then when we got home. 200 acre paddock over the road.
he’d pop the 4 ft fence. Zoom round at 200 mile an hr.
Pop back over. cross the road and come in.

Prick. Loved making me feel small Chuckle.

Unfortunately. Valuable dog stealing was prevalent in those days.
First one went that way. Second one. old age. MAGIC animals.
BUT… YOU had to be a very active. long winded person to exercise them properly.
Had one Shepherd too. Short hair.
But they no good for running. (Hips)
A shooting mate’s wife adopted him. Lasted around 14 good yrs.
Last 26 yrs. Cats. Cornish Rex x 3.
They ARE dogs in disguise, Believe me.

You go through age stages.
Dogs when younger and usually active,
Switching to cats. (I can’t stand those stupid little yapping Drop kicks they call dogs YUK.)
as YOU get older and less active.

This 16 yr old cat. Is still. Mentally. Around 9 months old.
He does standing drag starts along the hall. From the door mat at one end, to corner at other. where he bounces off he wall to get round it. Stupid as.
Kicking mat halfway up the wall in the process.
He DRIFTS. Skidding round the corners in home on the tiled floor.
Farkin’ idiot, then some.

Can’t help but think of what a cow-orker used to call them, “humpy dogs” (or “humping dogs”? whatever).

He had one that would go at it all the time: hassock, pillows, cat-bed… probably even the cat, too, when no one was looking. Rather embarrassing when people would come over and get treated(??) to a show.

(And now you know why I never went over to his place.)

Oh, okay...

That's kinda funny.
