I have a q8 plus on the way. I might legitimately consider doing this… Will keep y’all updated. Maybe I’ll use a small ratchet strap as a headband.
It’s good to have you here, Paperairplaneguru!
D25LR as it is economical way to get both hi CRI and deep red emitters. White to see your way while traipsing to the site, red to preserve night vision once there.
What is known about it? Is it going to use 18350 Battery?
My favorite headlamp is the Emisar D2, because, Anduril, regulated, and NoPWM
I also have several HS10. They are nice and lightweight, very comfortable, inexpensive, built in charging, but no Anduril and Yes PWM. I keep the tailcap unscrewed to prevent the parasitic drain that kills the battery in about 2 months. Photo Album with multiple LED mods:
I also have a Skilhunt H150 w DD 4500K 519a. Great little light, regulated, NoPWM, thought no Anduril, it can use AA, which makes it good as a light stored in my car, loaded w Eneloop. Duv before and after DeDome:
DD 4500K 519a is a personal favorite for warm white.
I assume @ebastler is referring to the Wurkkos HD10, which will use 14500 batteries.
All the info can be found in this topic: 【Wurkkos HD10 update】Design together Wurkkos AA/14500 Light/headlamp-trail production test~
There will be one version that can do USB charging, and is 14500 LiIon only (the first to launch - I have a test sample on the way, so do a bunch of other forum members). Then another version without USB port, but with AA (Alkaleak/NiMh) and 14500 LiIon dual fuel. Both with Anduril 2.
No info I am aware of regarding emitters, lumen, etc. Driver of the dual fuel version is probably ~TS10.
If I dislike the USB version driver, and have the spare time, I would like to make a dual fuel driver similar to the D3AA driver by thefreeman with integrated USB charging - will need a new MCPCB. But we will see. First I will check the OG driver, and then I need sufficient spare time
My favourite is the Elwis H2R. It has 400 lumens in a zoomable 1x18650 host. Its comfortable to wear and well balanced because the battery pack is at the rear. It uses a led im not familiar with but it looks high cri. I like it because it has great runtine and a very intense beam when focused
My favorite headlamps :
-
Wurkkos HD10
Andúril. USB-C. Tail magnet. Aux LED.
I have HS10 so when there’s HD10 I knew I’m gonna love it. -
Wurkkos HD10
My second HD10.
-
Sofirn HS10
My first right-angle flashlight / headlamp.
This is the unit that introduced me to this awesome species. -
Nitecore NU25
My first headlamp.
My two favorites are the Fenix HL60R and a Black Diamond. One for running and the other for everything else. The Fenix could use a new headband, but otherwise gtg
Haven’t branched out much in recent years, in regard to headlamps, since my needs are generally met.
Hi, what kind of headband for emisar D2 is that and where did you buy it?
Probably here…

Or here…
Review…
its a skilhunt HB3
the clip that holds the light was tighter than necessary, so I sanded the jaws to make it slightly less tight.
