What knife did you get today?

Got myself another Parmentier today ! (Edit: i really don’t know why i wrote that in the first place, i guess i’m a bit drunk with knife sweetness)

It’s actually a Lespect…

David Lespect makes fantastic custom knives, congrats for your purchase.
I also appreciate the work of Emmanuel Le Brun, Sacha Thiel and many others French and Belgian custom knives makers but those three are in my top 5.

Yep they are all great, as are Couderc, Espi, Beillonet, gaillard, Torpen, Moing, Sucheras, Bennica and dozens of others, so much opportunities to go bankrupt…

I got a Enlan EL01A from Lazy Lizard Gear. Would defiantly buy from there again.

Cool blade love the color of the scales.

Got a Elan EL-04 from Lazy Lizard
Second Knife both very nice for sure

Sweet, too bad not in my budget…. Btw, Isti, i wanted to tell you for some time that your Blog is very nice

This is the last knife I’ve received.

S110v at 63rc, Ti guard and C-Tek scales!

Thank you for your comment, I appreciate it!

That is a beauty there! It looks like all performance. Loveless style.

Thank you and it is definitely not just for show. It is .015 behind the edge and it cuts like a demon!

I bet it holds a helluva an edge too.

Oh it does for sure! I would put in the same category as K390 but there are minor differences in the edge they both like. Here is a pic of an impromptu edge retention test of K390 at 63rc…5 very large boxes sliced up and some aspen being whittled. It cut newspaper cleanly after all was said and done

The kids got me a Kershaw Brawler which is going to be my work knife.

Very nice knife. I don’t know the brand, and can’t find it in google. What is it please?

With a google search on this: “S110v at 63rc, Ti guard and C-Tek scales”, that is a pretty rare combination, you’ll find this:

Thanks TH, I tried searching with those keys and knife, tmi I guess.

Nice knife, looks to be an expensive custom.

The first one of the new year - Ganzo G712:

I got this cheap fixed blade from walmart for 3.50 plus 0.97 shipping.

No idea what kind of china stainless it is, but it took a pretty good edge that lasted while I whittled some pine limbs. The original finish was pretty poor with random grind burrs in a few places. The ergonomics are just ok and I don’t like how the laser logo weakens the blade, but for the price, I’m happy. I might try to wrap the handle with some cord as it is a bit thin.
