Not a single vintage light bought or modified this whole year. :_( I was too busy with modern stuff. Assuming im looking away from theWWII flashgrenade mod. That is in some ways a vintage flashlight now.
Reason I did not buy any vintage lights this year was because I still have too many from previous years.
I would not consider incandesent Maglite for vintage though. But it its vintage, I was able to get a brand new AA mini Maglite with US flag this year. :)
Any incandescent is practically vintage these days.. :p My Avatar picture is of my old AA MiniMaglite bulb. Before it was modified with LED. I missed having it for reference. The US flag Mini mag now serves as a reference for a small old incandescent light. Im not planning to mod it. Its also a pretty nice shelf queen as well. Which is the other purpose it serves. America! :)
Last year it was a 1928 copper RayOvac, but none this year, unless you count SK-58s as vintage. I tried again to find another AKOray AK-12 but couldn’t. I have a Tekna Monolith and some lesser incandescents, but I bought them new.
I’ve been looking at this for the past few years trying to decide what to do with it. It was my Dad’s light, the one that started this obsession.
I was thinking about converting it to LEDs but the more I think about it I should take it apart, have it re-chromed and restore to original. The sealed beam still works, the rear flasher is dead but I haven’t looked into it.
One of these days, maybe I’ll have it ready to pass on to a grandson or granddaughter.
“The Fulton MX991/U Flashlight (or sometimes known as a GI Flashlight, Army flashlight, moonbeam (Marine Corps[1]) or simply MX991/U) refers to a model of angle-head flashlight currently manufactured by Fulton Industries which was issued to soldiers during the Vietnam War, and has since remained in service with the United States Army.”
I never found any vintage flashlights this year, but i did pick up literally a dozen of vintage gas lanterns at once from one garage sale to restore & clean up.
