The TN31 has a clone; Supbeam K40. There are a couple of threads on here, and a member sells them through his web store. A decent price shipped to Canada.
Another member has real good prices on TN31 XM-L2. I don’t know if he ships to Canada though.
Other throwers to consider are Crelant 7G5CS with the collimator head, which MD-Lightsource has on sale right now, free shipping into Canada. Pure throw no spill in that configuration, and you can still go back to the original head for a decent reflector thrower.
My mid-range thrower is an HD2010 modded with an XM-L2 on copper SinkPad, driven at 5A+. It measures a decent 90kcd after 30 seconds. Stock, a good HD2010 can throw around 45-50kcd.
