What was your best flashlight of 2018

Well, you know… except this one:

The RRT-01 on the right, modded to N219b 4500k 9080, with a couple Aspheric Runner Ups, E21a 2000k and N219b 4500k

No more entries?

Mine was the Emisar D4S

My favourite production light I got this year was the 219B ROT66 for sure. A compelling combination of size, great UI, and amazing light quality, I love it despite many flaws.

The E07 is bar FAARRR the brightest single cell flashlight in the world. It measures twice as bright as the previous record holder, the Emisar D4S, using a Maukka calibrated TA lumen tube. 7,500 lumens vs 3,500 lumens. Both uses the same XP-L HI V2 emitters. I love the clear anodized and purple aux.

Stock light, maybe so.

I have one that makes 14,663 lumens on a single Samsung 25S 18650.

best, greatest, favorite, liked the best, you name it..in any category... :D

Which light is that? Pictures?

Caught the bug in 2017 after stumbling on to this darn site. Bought too many lights already.

Of 2018 acquisitions, my best:

Emisar D4S Nichia - feels good, looks good, illuminates great. My favorite light. I see XP-L Hi garners most praise but I wanted to try first Nichia light.

Thorfire C8s - My favorite bargain at $18.

this, except mine has two 3A emitters and 2 5D emitters.

2nd place to my recent acquisition, Sofirn Q8. Both lights have Anduril firmware. The Q8 definitely loses in the pocketability category, but this time of year jackets get worn at night and it’s not so bad.

Zebralight SC600FdIV+

This was a banner year for flashlights:

  • BLF Q8
  • BLF GT Mini
  • BLF GT70
  • Convoy S2+ UV
  • Zebralight SC600FcIV+
  • Zebralight SC53Fc

My best purchase of 2018 is hands down the Wuben T046R

Direct access to momentary Turbo or Strobe thru side switch, Mode memory. One click on or off with no delay.
5 well paced modes with good heat dissipation and a real nice usable white tint.
Also has USB charging.

Best part, got it for $12 American with Prime shipping and even included a battery.

Mine besides Q8 is the TN40S by Thrunite. Unique, one of a kind beam profile, excellent NW tint, single button interface, great throw with plenty of spill.

If looking on a host for my drivers its the MF02S NW
the original driver disqualifies it by far

Virence E21A Armytek Tiara.

If we’re talking production lights, it’s probably a toss-up between Fireflies’ 219B ROT66 and PL47, with honorable mentions to Rovyvon’s 219C Aurora A6 and Emisar’s SST20 D4.

Personally, I would just call the BLF Q8 the best all around light.

I’ve modified mine with dual BeCu springs, an AR lens, 4000k 90CRI LH351Ds, and even flashed Anduril very recently.

Such a great light with an excellent heat dissipation design, great battery life, one of the best UIs of any light, easy extension with 8x18650-to infinity, etc.

This thread is so dangerous to my wallet.

I think these both would be perfect gifts if they had USB C charging.

I’ve been wanting that light but not in my budget right now.
