My view with budget flashlights and good performance should go to:
*Thrower: *MF01Flood: MF02 with FET Narsil firmware or Hakelite MT03 with FET Narsil firmware.

Most definitely Thrunite Cata V6, BLG GT
Hmm… I don’t know if it quite counts, but I’d say the best one I got in 2018 was a FW3A. It’s the main light I’ve been using all year.
However, some others are also quite nice:
Emisar D4S XP-L HI
Fireflies ROT66-219B
BLF GT, if that counts… not really practical, but it sure is my longest thrower.
The D4S and ROT66 were both surprises, because I didn’t think either one sounded very nice but they’re unexpectedly good.
In 2017, I think the best ones I got were:

In my view the Sofirn C01 is the best light of 2018. So no surprise there
2. Virence quad Nichia E21A version of the Armytek Tiara C1 (with optional 18650 tube).
3. Barbolight Apollo APFL1 penlight .
Edit: how could I forget my Apollo penlight
It was won, not bought, but Olight M2R Warrior is my choice (according to my tastes and use)!

I have a Convoy S2+ triple that I adore.
They're usually are out of my price range, but I got it used pretty cheap.
I can't wait for the FW3A, the potentially best flashlight (for me) of some other year!

So hard to decide. I bought so many great lights ( mostly from reading about them here ) I suppose the D4s. No wait the BLF C8 or the Convoy S2 triple. Or maybe…
