costs more then the L6 but not by much.

Convoy is a little more well known than Thorfire from what I’ve seen. The reputation for Convoy’s quality and value is well known. The L6 is easily modded, and in it’s stock form it already comes with bypassed springs.

My favorites from 2017 are all BLF-related:

  • FW3A prototype
  • Emisar D4 with frosted optic and 3D-ish tint (5D+3D+3D+2B)
  • Emisar D1 and D1S
  • BLF Q8

I may be a bit biased though, considering I was involved in these to various degrees and have my code on all of them. As for stuff I didn’t make, my favorites are mostly a bit older. In chronological order:

  • OKluma DC2 copper (2017)
  • Olight S-Mini Ti (2016)
  • DQG Fairy (2015)
  • Zebralight H52Fw (2013)
  • L3 L10-219 (2013)

There’s been many great lights, but I’ll list some that actually get a lot of use

  • Olight H2R - this is clipped to my winter jacket all the time
  • Emisar D4 219C - doesn’t need any introduction
  • Olight M2R (emitter changed to an XHP35 HI) - Gotta love the instant tactical turbo and the great tint
  • Astrolux MF01 (driver changed to the Texas Ace one with NarsilM, thanks Lexel!) - >10k lumens with >CRI90, my favorite light atm

BLF Q8 - what could you possibly want more?

EMISAR D4 in 18350 - XXXfun with a capital F (and a very effective headlight on a cap, and I worked out a lanyard for it)

S2+ 18350 “The Red One” + triple XP-G3 (thanks kiriba-ru!) - much abused this year, very tactile to handle

NITECORE TIP 2017 - just a very practical package, excellent on a hat after dark too

OLIGHT i3e (silver 120 lumens) - a perfect mini EDC neck-light

If I had to pick one, it has to be my BLF A6.

Probably Folomov EDC-C4 - it is a bright, small 1x18650 with USB charging, and a tolerable but not great UI

I do EDC it - but the only days are weekends.

and it’s a power bank - if you want to carry around a weird special cable, i never use it for that.

You don’t need a special cable to use EDC-C4 as a powerbank.
It’s enough to get an adapter like that:

It’s not exactly like the custom cable.
First, it’s doesn’t have male USB-A, so you can’t use it to charge the EDC-C4 from a regular adapter.
Second, the one on the picture is not fully compatible.
Items with non-compliant type A plugs like that:

won’t work.
There are larger but fully compatible converters as well.

I have those as well, they are also tiny and not as easy to lose. :wink:
Third, as you noted, it lacks the cable.
