What wildlife did you spot tonight?

I’ve seen skunks almost all white.

Yeh, I saw one here like that. Never knew there was such a thing, but when I saw the V-shaped stripe down his back, started at the head to split into 2 racing stripes down his back, and the huge floofy tail, I was all like, yep, that’s a skunk!

Had one waddle up to my campsite in Big Bend once.

This was during the day two weeks ago. When she saw me coming towards her she was trying to dig under those small branches and leaves to hide.
It’s a pretty big snapping turtle. I laid the glove on it just to show the scale. I make sure I always have those gloves in the vehicle from the end of May through June when they’re out searching for places to lay their eggs in case I have to take one off of a road. With those gloves I can safely pick them up from the sides. As they are trying to scratch with their hind legs they don’t rip your hands open with the claws.
This one below is a monster from a few years ago. I did move that one out of the middle of road. It was heavy. The shell was 17 inches front to rear.

The big guy has a pretty good looking shell. Usually by the time they get that size they are showing lots of wear and a good coating of algae.

Pretty shiitey pic just snapped through the screen with my tablet, but wotdahell…

Was almost 4, gonna be getting light soon anyway, and the bowl was licked clean by midnight, so I wasn’t too arsed to refill it given that it stayed almost untouched for 2 nights in a row.

My #4 was looking out the door at something, didn’t pay it no nevermind, but then looked and saw The Raccoon waddling up the stairs. Grabbed the container of dryfood, jiggled it so he’d hear and see it, then went out to top it off.

Yeah, he scampered off, but I wasn’t inside more than 30sec before he was back, filling his face with both hands.

And the bowl’s empty again.

And I know, The Birb Water Park is empty again. The fountain did a good job emptying it by spraying half the water off the edge all afternoon.

The sun did a number on the plastic, making it brittle that the “handles” cracked off and it won’t hold even half as much water as it used to.

The fountain used to actually float around, but now it just sits on the bottom at an angle, given the curvature of the bottom.

Never did this year’s “spring cleaning”, so should eventually get to it before winter… :poop:

Cannibal. There is a whole live frog attached to those legs. The victim was only about half way in when I first saw it. Took me a few minutes to get the camera. It wasn’t very much smaller than the one doing the eating.

Being a frog fan…excellent pic.
