What would you do with a 6D MagLite?

I ordered one of those fusion shower heads based on this thread. I have 2 4D’s that are very dim by today’s standards. Hopefully this will bring them back to life.

I have the older XR-E 700 lumen version running off 6AA Eneloops in a 2D Mag.
Works pretty good. Uses optics instead of reflectors.
It throws a big jagged looking hotspot caused by the overlapping die images, with hardly any spill.
The hotspot reminds me of a cars broken windshield hole.

Have a red 6D want to make it a 2s3p amp monster for my red PT121. Might even put in another 2 cells (2s4p) with an extension. Stir in a SR90 reflector and make a head. Add a big chunk of copper (seller claimed was C101) 3.1”x2.05”x1.55” for da heat sink. Add coin cell powered FET and switch. Bake Tenergy nimh Ds. Paint the town RED.

My 4 D was a gift…So it has a special place in my heart …I cherish it …So much so It has a duracell/energizer Alkaline which has leaked and welded itself inside it ……Once every year I break out a foot long screwdriver and a hammer and pound on it some more .Cutting it down just seems like such a pain .

Reminds me of my Maggie (which, some may not know, Old Lumens brought back to life!) She’s beside my bed even still.

But I’d either have it cut down and modded DD or drop a Terralux or something in there and use it as a makeshift club.

I’m not going to cut mine down. Can’t see the point in that, it’s big, might as well make use of it.

I probably wouldn’t either. But some of these guys could probably turn it into at least 4 lights so that is another way to make use of it.

I’d wouldn’t mind mine cut down, but it’d need a chunk of copper or aluminum too.
As there’s no real heatsinc. In this old Incan mag, I’ve never seen one with the code written on the side before.
My terralux doesn’t thread on it (which means I’ll buy another mag when my wife isn’t looking)

Yeah, you have one of the really old maglites. Most likely before they were mass produced and from the time you could order a 12d maglite. :) Either way I would leave it stock and just buy a new one. They're pretty cheap.
