Got an Ultrafire C3 Q5 from ebay. This one is different from the dealextreme C3 P4. The one from dealextreme is much warmer and floody. This one is more throwy. It didn't work right out of the box. Had to take it completely apart, clean everything, insert 24 guage copper wire in the head and inside tailcap, and lube it. It works perfectly now. This one doesn't have anodized threads like the C3 P4 however. And the emitter is smaller than the C3 P4.
Maybe someone can help me identify the emitter? I'm not sure if it's an XR-E or XP-E. It has a copper background right behind the LED, and is slightly smaller than the P4. Which die size is smaller XR-E or XP-E?
An XR-E will have the large metal ring around the emitter dome. An XP-E is the same die as an XR-E except that it has a smaller, ringless dome similar to an XP-G or XM-L would have.
Thanks, mine looks exactly like this one which is XR-E (note the copper outline around the actual square). I read somewhere that there are different die sizes, like the EZ1000 and EZ900. This might explain the size difference between the two I'm comparing.
I got a real jackpot today: Three packets I had really waited for! (well, one of them was delivered to my work address, so I can't see that before Friday)
But the two I got to my home address were really well packaged and in perfect shape after a long journey.
Does anyone want to guess what I got?
Mystery package #1: (Nice cardboard box, which was inside a taped styrofoam box, which was inside a padded envelope, which was inside a plastic bag - Haven't seen this well packaged flashlights ever before!)
Mystery package #2: (Big cardboard box, filled with styrofoam S's, protecting the flashlight parts wrapped with thick layer of newspaper. Also this light was in perfect shape, no damage whatsoever!)
