What you got today

Absolutely! That drop-in will generate a lot of heat!

See this comment here with link to 5mil copper foil.

TIR FTW!!

Ha!

Thanks for including the reflector too, Johnny, it's nice having the option. I also have a TIR from a cheap Autozone light that fits it.

Thanks garrybunk & keltex, I'll look out for some copper to heatsink the dropin. I won't use it for long until I get it wrapped.

I appreciate the recommendation as the other drop-ins are for other lights that can be tested with the S-R5.

All of the UFs were part of package deals to get started quickly, so I still need to order some quality 18650s as I won't have any backups unless I rob from other lights.

Worst thing about that deal is that they are the same shop.

Just received my AccuPower IQ-328 battery charger/analyzer. It even came a day early. No batteries to put in it at this moment, but overall it seems pretty nice and decent quality.

I just got a great 3-2 victory, delivered by Team Finland!!!

Team USA played really well, but this time Finland was better. Good game!

I got 10 Nanjg drivers today. I have a backlog of about 20 drop ins so don't despair I am going through my list to see who's been waiting the longest and I should start shipping some tomorrow. If you are waiting and see this post send me another PM. Sorry for the delay.

I got my Cyclone C88 and 5 King Kong 26650's from Hank at Intloutdoor.

got a Vinox Minichamp today. it's my first and shall be my last SAK (swiss army knife). i am not a knife enthusiast and dont want to become one, got no money for this haha.

considering the fact the Vinox are never on (real) sale the price i paid is unbeatable, 22.50€ shipped (= ~28.50USD shipped). list price and local retail price is 34.00€ lol (not worth it!!).

it comes with AND retractable pen AND toothpick AND tweezers. pathetic me has already shrink wrapped it to protect the red handles against scratches. a leather belt pouch for this product exists but that is even more pathetic.

as small as i thought (~similar to the dimensions of DQG Tiny III), it feels heavier (hefty!) than i thought but i never intended to carry it daily with me (pockets or keychain) anyway like i do it with my 1xAAA lights.

Final thought: i do recommend the heat shrink tubing, much more reasonable and effective than a dedicated pouch. the only problem now is .. i cant get the SAK out of it (well, i can. and sliding it out of the shrink wrap does cause many many micro scratches in the red handles, which is what i wanted to avoid in the first place: scratches in the brand-new handles yikes!)

:doublefacepalm:

where's jack when he's needed.. ;)

EDIT: i was able to remedy the problem and enhance the sliding by applying a droplet of nano oil on the interior surface of the heat shrink tubing. now the SAK can slide in and out very well. and i could have avoided the micro scratches too, argh!!

... V11R arrived yesterday, with an AA extender and the (new) rubber button (Ti as spare, included)

Well built and excellent beam - the AA (14500) is a nice addon too.

From HKE, $86.50 total - 12 days from HK to GR

Got a hypetac P1A today. Nice little light! Will definitely get a review.

Sunwayman M10A

Received yesterday 2 x cheap 18650 chargers and micro USB charger, nothing special :/

Last night I got some TIR optics to test with the XB-D.

Ledil Tina 11Β° clear "spot"

Carclo ~20Β° frosted "medium"

Carclo 32Β° frosted "wide"

Hopefully one of these produces a half-way decent beam.

Got a neutral Xeno E03 v3 yesterday. OK. Well, bit boring really - bigger than I expected, and the switch seems very stiff.

Curious about the "V6" SMO XM-L drop-in on DX that simply won't fit in a Maglite C or D head, I decided to order one of the entire lights that it comes in, so I can compare it to my Mag mods that pair an XM-L with the D Maglite LED reflector. (I got a "V8" drop-in too, which is almost a dead match for the Mag LED reflector + XML and can hopefully be made to fit in a Mag D head with some metal grinding/filing/shaving of the inside of the head.)

If my pseudo-brand Chinese lights have to have a logo laser etched onto them, I prefer it to be UltraFire. This preference just dates back to years ago when that was the most prominent (first?, only?) "brand" of Surefire xenon imitator and generally considered to be of the highest quality among all the lights on DX/KD/etc. Romisen deserves a mention here too. I've never been disappointed with any hosts of either label, but unfortunately cannot say the same for the other xxxxFire lights, even the ones now well regarded like TrustFire and Tank007, which have been inconsistent with regard to quality.

It's not that I distinguish identical lights by which logo/"brand" is etched on them (and certainly not by which vendor supplied them), I simply prefer the sound/appearance of the two mentioned above over the others. Trailing closely are SkyRay, Aurora and TrustFire in no particular order. Dead last are silly sounding names like SpiritFire, SacredFire, FandyFire and Prairie Fire. I'm undecided about whether to place UniqueFire in the last category or slightly ahead of it.

Anyway, enough about that. The point is that based on the preference described above and nothing else, for the V6 host, I selected sku 102582 from DX, branded "UltraFire D1" in the photos, and ordered it on 4/22. A day later, after the order status had already gone to "packaging", I noticed that there was a black version of the same light for the same price with almost the same sku, 102584. I've only ever seen this host in "Titanium" color and other shades of gray, but never black before. If my preference for logo didn't warrant waiting for DX vs. faster vendors, the unique color certainly did. I contacted DX requesting a change to the order and they obliged the following day.

The official shipment date provided by DX was 4/29 from Singapore via SingPost (this was a first for me, all other orders had been HKpost). SingPost didn't acknowledge electronic notification of the item until 5/8 and didn't dispatch the package toward the US until 5/11. It arrived at customs on 5/14 and my home on 5/17. To my surprise, the packaging included a gift box, which protected the pristine black ano from nicks and scratches in transit. Very nice.

OK, 3 weeks from DX isn't too bad. It took longer to dispatch than some of the smaller vendors might have taken, but in the end, I'd be getting a black version of the V6 host to add to my UltraFire collection. Here she is:

Doh!!

Looking at the pics of skus 102582 and 102584 now, I realize that only the Titanium colored 102582 bears the UltraFire branding and the black one has the tube turned in every pic to conceal the logo. Oh well, it's still a helluva nice light, even with the stupid branding on the side.

Written comparison of the D1 to the single-emitter version of the HD2010 provided in post #134 here.

I can't believe what showed up today...... an order from DX placed on 4/27 I paid for tracking and the only day that it worked was yesterday showing me It would be here today but my order was split up and the light I was looking forward to of course didn't show up. The funny thing with that order is it shows when I go to track it like it don't exsists

FANDYFIRE C10 -so far shining it in the house it's really bright and has got a great beam.

Sorry this is so long just, now for the light I got. It came in a less than normal bubble envelope and it was only wrapped 1x with this thin ass red bubble so called wrap and of course it had chips on the bezel ring, magic marker time.... just pisses me off.
