What you got today

A tiny two-seat electric car!

Did you get a very nice price on it? Most of the complaints with the ForTwo seem to be about how harsh the drivetrain, so this could be pretty nice, although the steering gets complaints too.

My wife and I didn’t feel comfortable buying an electric car because the technology seems to be moving rapidly and competition is starting to heat up. So we went for a 3-year lease to see how things shape up in 3 years.

The smart car lease deal was pretty good. With rebates and promotions, I end up getting about $850 in my pocket, rather than paying them anything. The lease is $139 plus taxes per month (about $151 in total). For that, we got a 2014 Smart Car Electric Drive hard top with leather, heated seats, and some minor enhancements like cargo cover.

Reg. drive, it is not a luxury drive by any means. I used my neighbor’s car (same model and year) all of yesterday before buying this one today. It does have a stiff feel to it, but it doesn’t seem harsh. Steering wasn’t hard for me or my wife. We are both small people.

Overall, with a battery range of just about 70 miles, I don’t think we are ever going to drive long enough to feel the strain. Our driving pattern is extremely local. We have a different, comfortable car for traveling with kids. So I’m hoping this Smart Car choice will work out ok. Let’s see. It is a 3-year experiment

That sounds great. I'd go for a lease too. Like you, that range would work for me most of the time. It's not like I don't have another vehicle to use when I need to travel further.

Though I have a hybrid, I am not so enthusiastic about electric drive as I am about small size. Electric cars will help preserve the environment when electric grids become really green. In the mean time, and always, the smaller the car the less damage it does, whether or not it hits someone.

NICE! (another toy I gotta get..cords for soldering SUCK!)

I got in 6 1-mode Sipik SK68 clones I ordered about a month and a half ago for $3.65 a piece

I got my first flashlight for 2014 , a Convoy S2 2.8 amp XML T5 5C from FastTech . It took 6 weeks to get here . The first thing I did was attach a clip . It is less floody than my XIAOZHI and I like the creamy tint .

Notice the orangey tint of the emitter .

LEATHERMAN REBAR JUST GOT in!

Got 4 Soshine (Panasonic) protected 3400mAh 18650's from Illumination Supply. Each pair was individually boxed...NICE! Charging a pair now on my Xtar VP1.

I was stunned at how deep the reflector is on this… its looks deeper than an 18650. Come on delivery man I want my new 18650s, not really, I still need the charger so I can balance them… soon, soon my precious…

Beautiful batteries, love the packaging

Deep indeed!

And that’s why I hate lights with batteries in series :frowning: lol.

A quick little teaser pic for a flashlight that came in. I’ve been waiting forever to get one of these bad boys.
Tangsfire C8 for scale.

xbox power supply

The look and feel of the Yezl T9 is an artistic and ergonomic triumph. It fills, or will fill an important functional need, of a zoomy with more throw because of its bigger size. It seems the electrical and optical parts are not yet up to the same standard, but those are easily replaced, so I am very happy with it.

What a fancy box that light comes in.

Nothing but the best!

Honestly though, it’s a pretty cheap case… I wouldn’t trust it to withstand more than 50lbs constant pressure. It functions as a storage/carry case for the various goodies inside.

And what is inside it is far more entertaining.
The review should be up later today.

Server power supply came in. I have lots of work to do with this and a few other things that have come in recently.

This looks like a flashlight head with a tailcap :Sp so weird …

Got a new Fandyfire G36 from DX. Only took took 20 days to get to Texas from China.
I’m really impressed with it so far. It’s one of my brightest lights and is amazingly small for a 2x18650 series cell light.
And after running on high for 15 minutes, it’s only 100 deg F at the head.
