Ordered 6-16, received 6-22, six day turnaround is impressive!
My order includes six of the "10W" warm white emitter bulbs and one cool white with the E12 bases. The warm white will be installed in a ceiling fan fixture, while the cool white will be tested in a fixture over the kitchen sink. I'm not sure what kind of wattage to actually expect; these are 5x emitter bulbs using the fried-egg style emitters. These emitters are very inexpensive, and are easily replaceable, so I should be able to service these in the event of emitter burn-out.
I know 10W would be a lot of power for the limited heat sinking these have. They are reasonably well built, but they will need some clean-up work before using. I've taken one apart so far and found a loose aluminum bur from the heat-sink manufacturing process, which promptly fell into the tape-wrapped driver. The LED PCB is held in place with pressure from the dome/cap/diffuser piece, and has an insufficient amount of white thermal grease under the board. There was also a small piece of debris between the PCB and heatsink, so it was making poor contact. Before using these, I'll be cleaning them thoroughly, and doing what I can to improve heat transfer.
I got excited. I received a package today. I thought it was the Jetbeam headlamp I ordered. To my disappointment...it was some baby bottle nipples, etc.
A four-bulb splitter to add some extra light in my garage/workshop. I only have 2x single-bulb ceiling fixtures. This, along with some of the $2.50 Lowe's LED bulbs should brighten things up a bit in my work area.
Came with 2 copper pills, one suited for a triple and a shorter one suited for a reflector. The 18650 tube is really well done. It’s an extension tube that slots into the middle when using an 18650. It blends together so well when installed you wouldn’t even know the body tube has the extra section if you didn’t know. Threads feel good for titanium. Build quality looks quite high.
The Blue camo and Sand camo SK68 lights I had purchased. Hollow pills (is this standard on SK68s?) but are otherwise very nice. They have a true Cree XP-E emitter, and are very bright from an Alkaline AA cell. Purchased for a friend so they will be operated using NiMH AA cells only. I haven't tested with 14500 yet. I have to say they look very nice, even better than the pics on the website! The finish is a thick gloss coating that looks reasonably durable. Threads are dry, but that's easily fixed. Overall, I'm very happy with these lights!
2x 5W-rated COB GU10 base LED bulbs. I purchased these to replace some older 4W LED bulbs in my stove range hood. These are very nice, I'm hoping they last well. The COB emitters don't seem to generate as much heat, which is good. They have a very nice wide flood, with a good amount of light for a stovetop. They are floodier than the TIR-based bulbs I had their originally, so it does a much better job of evenly illuminating the surface. This SKU is available in Warm/Neutral/Cool white; the unit I purchased is the Neutral, and is very nice. It's a natural light without the excess yellow/greenish tint of some of the cheaper warm bulbs I've used in the past.
A Bilco Door for my basement entrance. Being over 9' long, it needed 2 extension kits. I'm going to paint it and the inside walls and stairs in the next couple of weeks..
Next project: pressure washing the deck, and then staining it :)
Today I received a SoShine LCD Universal Li-ion NiMH Battery Charger SC-S7. Nice little unit that can be powered via mini USB or the supplied 12V plugpack.
Also received receive a banana plug that was ordered as a pair from ebay. Only one of the two arrived after about 4 weeks of waiting.
A few days ago I got a new Zen Muse gimbal and 4k camera for my Inspire 1 drone after a nasty crash destroyed the first one. Yesterday I found that some internal electronics on the drone were damaged so I will need to send it in for servicing. Today I had to buy a phantom 3 Pro as a backup drone as I can't do any work without a working drone. Being unemployed for the last several months, this has made a hit on my savings. Time to sell some lights so keep an eye out for my sales thread coming real soon.
My titanium Spy showed up after two weeks, along with some battery cases, and I love it. It is noticeably lighter than my brass Fairy, and almost half as long as my Quantum D2. Now I need a copper 10180 light to complete my collection.
I got my Convoy C8 from GearBest today. It has a 4C neutral white tint and is the new pill less design as advertised. It appears to be a real Convoy unlike the red S2+ knockoff I received from them last week.
