Nice score!
I’ve been wanted to have one of Sinner’s creation since he was only build a custom host.

Is it the Reylight AAA Ti? :open_mouth:

Yes it is. The Pineapple Ti Mini. Not really a budget light in general but pretty budget for being Ti and small batch. My first Ti light so I am very happy. The Nichia 219B 4500K R9080 high CRI is very nice

Sandblasted Ti always looks amazing.

Great looking flashlight and LED Bak!

A Sofirn C01R and Convoy C8+. Both are excellent!

A tub of o-ring-friendly silicone grease. Immediately picked up an old toothbrush and went at it on the threads of all my older lights. Convoy S2, Thrunite Ti3, Lumintop Tool, you name it. It’s insane how smooth and nice the threads feel now, some are even smoother than they were out of the box  No more squeakers either.

Yep, that’s why (as long as I’m motivated enough), I’ll scrub down even “well-lubed threads” and even pull off and clean O-rings and the grooves they sit in, and relube everything from scratch. Buttery smooth…

People forget that even the aforementioned “well-lubed threads” is they they’ve just been machined and anodised, and can have leftover grit, etc. embedded in them and in the lube. And it just wears with each unscrewing/rescrewing. Scrubbing-down and relubing gets rid of it.

That’s why sometimes squeaky unlubed threads can be better, as it forces you to do that (or just live with grindy threads).

+1 to you :+1: Next time I go on a re-lubing spree, I will remove the o-rings to give them a very good slather. The TN12 I gave to my brother sure could use that treatment after more than 5 years of use.

I got my tires rotated at a Mavis tire center. Found a free coupon on their web site . During the rotation they inspected my 2012 MDX with 57,000 miles and said my tires needed replacement (It’s a second set with 20,000 miles on them). They also claimed my rear shocks were leaking oil into the cylinders (whatever that means), and I should replace the front struts at the same time . Oh and I would need an alignment to go along with the shock and strut change .

Wow. Were you wearing a teeshirt that said “The Muggle” on it??

How often are you rotating the tires? If not every 5K they will definitely wear prematurely. Recommended mileage for shock/strut replacement is 50k (according to Monroe who makes 90% of the shocks/struts out there) so that sounds about right. The camber/caster adjustment on the front will need to be reset if you changed the front struts because the adjustment bolts are what hold the struts to the spindles.

Is it common for them to be leaking @ 57k? No, but it’s not unheard of. I work for a tire retailer/service center also and I see situations like yours everyday. Most people do not do the standard recommended maintenance on their vehicles and are surprised when they see the service bills.

Just remember that maintenance is always cheaper than repair.

I generally rotate my tires every 5000 miles when I do an oil change . But at age 70 the MDX wheels and tires are getting a bit unmanageable .

I wasn’t always a car muggle (I really hate that word) but since they added all the damn computers and such there aren’t too many things I can do myself .

Oil change , tire rotation , change tranny fluid , spark plugs , simple stuff.

I thought that raccoons eat scorpions!

Spark plugs? I’ve got a handed down Toyota Matrix with over 200K miles with the same plugs and even the same clutch. They sure don’t make ’em like they used to. (thank God)

Ahhh Yes. The old 1zz-fe. I knew that engine well… consuming lots of oil ?

14 AWG silicon wire, and 34AWG teflon wire: that stuff is much more tiny than I expected. From Hobbyking.
