I ask them if they checked po box and checkp if torches came I we have a disassembly line a cleaning line a lube Linux and reassembly line and then we wait for dark and see who can hit the neighbours tack room 325 yards away now becoming a new family tradition
I smile at mrs gords, tell her this is the last one/won in competition/bought to sell on/sent for review. 0:) cower from her wrath then, test, lube, play.
Or, if I’ve been sneaky, collect ticket from my dads, collect light from post office, hide light in van till an appropriate time to introduce it to my collection.
Or, open up and examine package. dig out iron, tools and consumables, assemble light, marvel at my perfect beam/tint/ui, put light in pocket for extended operational evaluation, try and convince anyone I meet tha they need one too.
Here’s the 10-step process I take upon each light’s arrival:
1. Gleefully tear open the envelope/box it came in
2. Check if anything left in the envelope/box
3. Toss away any instruction manual that came with it
4. Insert battery, test all functions
5. Take a couple of photos
6. Check if anything left in the envelope/box
7. Tear it down/disassemble by hand
8. Re-lube and put it back together
9. Stare into blank space thinking of how to mod it
10. Check if anything left in the envelope/box
