I got mine from Convoy together with a flashlight a while ago… Great price, but not so great price if you need to buy one flashlight per cell to get proper shipping
Nkon has now listed the Ampace JP40 (on pre-order) with an expected shipping date for the end of July:
On a sidenote: they also list the Eve 50PL, but it is currently ‘Out of Stock’ and no indication when it will be on stock, but it looks like it’s comming:
It is; I was already hoping that Nkon would stock the JP40, due to hype/populairity around it. Unfortunately, the pre-order price from when I posted my previous message (€ 2,99 a piece) has gone up a bit to € 3,25, but still a decent price I think, for no ‘minimal order quantity’.
If I have the time (and think about it), I will send Nkon a email to ask for a (rough) timeframe in which they hope to recieve the 50PL. Really looking forward to be able to order that one, given it’s fantastic performance (from what I’ve read) and the 5000mAh capacity.
It isn’t the JP40 mentioned in the topic title, but since I’ve already mentioned the 50PL, I might also mention another 5000mAh high drain tabless cell I just noticed on Nkon:
Personally, I wasn’t aware of this brand, but as coincidence has it, I discoverd the Endless Sphere website when I couldn’t sleep last night and read for a few hours on there. When I stumbled upon the RS50 on Nkon, I remembered reading about it on that website:
It’s currently priced quite a bit more expensive than the 50PL, but it wouldn’t surprise me that the currently listed price for the 50PL might change the moment they go on pre-order. (And if not, I certainly will grap a bunch of them for that price! )
By the way: fun to see several familiar (BLF) names there on that forum!
Which one do you mean, the Reliance RS50 (which I haven’t seen on his website) or the Eve 50PL?
In the case of the 50PL: Simon has it now listed with a completely different (red) wrapper, which also popped up in the Vapcell Direct Store on AE. I just reacted to that (with the link) in the main Convoy tread here on BLF.
EDIT: I see he has it listed as an option in combination with flashlights, he doesn’t offer it seperately (yet).
Literally the day after I posted this, it became available for preorder.
For now I’ve preordered 6 of them, to see how well they match, but given the description from Nkon, that these are from a custom order for a client, directly from/by EVE, these will most likely be good matching cells anyway.
The 3 closest matching cells will go into my Sofirn Q8 Plus, the others for individual use in flashlights.
At € 3,55 each (incl. VAT) for me here in the Netherlands, they are currently cheaper than the ~ € 4,- Nkon currently asks for the BAK 45D and EVE 40PL, so a pretty good price I think!
5 out of the 6 cells I ordered matched eachother almost perfectly, down to the mV, but the 6th one was ~0,2xx V lower than the other ones. I guessed it might have been put in the wrong storage voltages, so I charged it up to (almost) the storage voltage of the other 5, marked the date and exact voltages (down to 0,001V) of each and put them into storage for now.
5 out of the 6 (which were already extremely closely mathing when I recieved them), discharged ~1mV/0,001V over 2 weeks, that other one turns out to be a ‘lemon’ and showed way higher self discharge than the other ones.
I’m glad that 5 out of 6 seem to turn out fine, so I can live with the small loss.
