Well, I tore my TR-J20 apart to do a resistor mod to the driver. Unfortunately I’ve been through 2-3 moves and I can’t find any of my SMT resistors nor any low-value thru-hole resistors. The lowest I found was about 100 Ohm.
Are there any in-person stores that sell resistors, or anyone have an idea for a source in Germany? I could mail order from the States, but I only need 1 resistor and none of the kits have an assortment of low values.
I don’t think I can solder bridge the resistors on the TR-J20 driver, can I?

I was assuming we all have leftover skeleton pcbs from TVs, toasters, set top boxes, GPU cards, (…)? I harvest many parts from dead hardware.
edit: smaller hobby stores? Ask a friend? Car stores? Things like Home Depot?

All my old GPUs have pico-sized SMT resistors. The few thru-hole I found were all way too high of a value.
Kinda ha-ha, but I tried soldering in a 0.5 Ohm Kanthal coil (used in vaping). Solder will not stick to Kanthal at all.

I think I have some SMD resistors - just got some stuff from China in the mail. What number would be on the resistor value you are looking for?
My package from China has small cardboard strips of tiny resistors with very small numbers on them.
This is what I received:

If I have what you need, I’ll send it to you.

Tuns auch 2 1Ohm Widerstände?
Hätte die in der normalen 1/4W Bauform da
Edit: Hab sogar 0.5Ohm 1206 SMD Widerstände da

Huh, I looked at one of my really old video cards and it had a resistor labelled “R510”, which I assume is a .51 Ohm SMT resistor.
I wish I had an integrating sphere, I can’t tell how much brighter, if at all, the TR-J20 is. It seems brighter.
Thanks, MILSPEC!
edit - Es tut mir leid, L4M4, but my German language skills aren’t so good.

I have some labelled “471”.
Before I send it to you, if you look at the link to make sure its the right size (size 0805):
https://www.fasttech.com/p/1007902
If this is what you want, I will send you 2 resistors marked “471”.
PM me your mailing address too.
I will send it via regular united states postal service in a regular envelope since these resistors are very small and flat.
thanks.

I thank you for the kind offer, but I found a very old video card that I think had a resistor I wanted.
Hope I can pay back all ya’ll’s kindness soon.

yes, you’re right, just looked up the interpretation for a three-number only code (there are also 1 letter/3 number codes and 4 number codes).
“471” = 47 x 10^1 = 47 x 10 = 470
BTW, if anyone else needs some SMD 0805 size resistors, let me know what value and if I have it, I can send it out to you.
I also have extra SMD 0805 size purple LEDs which I plan to use to make a backlit tailcap. If anyone needs one, I can send it out to you.
Here is the link to the LEDs:

The traditional way is to visit the next Conrad or other local electronics shop. Local electronic shops seem to die out in most countries but Conrad is still there.
They are also the largest mail order shop for electronics.
Unfortunately most Conrad stores don’t have many SMD components in stock. But there are plenty of Ebay traders in Germany which send electronic components in 1 or 2 days for little money.
