Hey guys, I’ve been emailing Wallbuys and DoingOutdoor about their warranties for the FF4 HID light.
I was initially curious about the 5 year warranty, as stated in the Fire-Foxes website:
After my mediocre RMA experience with Wallbuys, I thought I needed to clarify the ins and outs of the warranty, as this would be my most expensive light.
This was Wallbuys’ reply:
Well, okay. Wallbuys was not going to provide me with the stated 5-year warranty, but a tenth of that, half a year.
So I moved to DoingOutdoor, and emailed Bill about the claimed 5-year warranty. My questions were:
and a few days later, he replied:
So… where is the real warranty… or am I just asking for too much? :~
I was surprised when the resellers would only provide a one year warranty, and didn’t try to support or acknowledge claimed 5-year one.
@Hikelite: Thanks, but just before it was deleted, the first reply to this thread questioned whether or not the reseller’s warranty had to be the same as the manufacturer’s warranty. So I guess there are two sides to this argument.
Sorry 'bout that, after I posted I wasn't sure if FF was a house brand of these resellers, in which case their limitations would be troubling, or if they are just normal resellers in which case it's unreasonable to expect them to act as a full-service warranty center. :)
Will people still be using the FF4 5 years from now? Maybe the average joe, but then again no average joe will have a FF4.
In a year something better is going to come out, and you’re lying if you say you’re not going to get it!
