Which are the flashlights in the world below ~450 grams excluding batteries, that have the highest sustained light output?
(As in, after the stepdown is done, in normal ~~25 centegrade outdoor operating conditions.)
There’s the Storm of Ra with 7000lm sustained but I saw no published weight, I would presume about a kilogram as it’s very big, ~16x16x20cm. Imalent DX80 apparently steps down to 7000lm but is 1.2kg. I see a lot of >10000lm lamps e.g. Imalent DT70 at 420g, but they step down to 1,800lm (Review: Imalent DT70 FloodKing (XHP70 Dedomed, 13k+ Lumens)), sigh!!
This search came after I bought the Emisar D4 which is the highest-luminosity single-18650 flashlight around. Its stepdown is just massive so its 4000lm spec is not of so big use.
Anthon , you're right , I was about to write down about this Acebeam L30 . I have mine for about 2 weeks , a Christmas gift from a close friend from US ..,was already tested in a 2 days trip in the mountains ...is a dream light ! I managed to make it work with some unprotected Panasonic 18650 ( I manufactured a conductive spacer for the negative side ) ,even for turbo mode , so you can have "spare" batteries for the 20700 one..!
And yes , is able to sustain 1800-2000 lumens (high mode) with no step down ,as long as the battery can...
it’s a very specific question. Only people who have many and many torches could answer.
By the way I remember a review for Thrunite TN36 and TN36UT in wich was clear that one of the two models was able to sustain a very high output level.
Very useful for the purpose in OP look at every review in BLF  REVIEW: ThruNite TN36 UT (4 x 18650 | 3 x XHP70) - PART 1 & 2
