Lots of random chinese LEDs come in that package. Its certainly no cree. You can find pictures of common leds from major manufacturers at LED Gallery - Flashlight Wiki
Anyone recall the title of that BLF thread that compiled a ton of data? LED pics, emitter test graphs, mcpcb graphs, driver info.
Not a clue, but you can use this thread instead
i did look there before posting this thread
but no hit there
looks like this

Only with a smaller emitter inside the dome
Could that be an OSRAM?
Its a bit different then the typical chinese “1W” LED. Usually the phosphor is just slathered all over. Instead yours is only on the die. Tho here is a chinese one that does look more like yours, 1W LED.
What light was it in? They claimed it was a Cree XP-G? Try for a full or partial refund.
This is a generic LED and nothing special. It’s got a small die, but as you can see from where the bond wires go the manufacturer is unable to precisely deposit phosphor like Cree/SSC/OSRAM/Nichia/Philips/everyone can. They aren’t even spraying it on or whatever Cree was doing when they launched the XR-E - the pictured LED looks like it’s got the “poured in a bucket” phosphor like you see in cheap no-thermal-pad SMD LEDs used in inexpensive LED light bulbs and stuff. Is the output as good as an XP-E / XR-E?
EDIT:
Look at the bond wires, they go to the middle. It’s the same as typical 1W generics.
Edit mine’s slightly different, the dome is different, no “optic properties” or whatever you want to call it, just a bubble of hard plastic. (Note these are blue LED’s so no phosphorus panel over the die).
Looks like smaller die version of the “1W light bead” you regularly see on ebay. Probably 0.5W?
If you like ’em, they’re just $2 for 10
I've had one of these in a flood to throw like a c78?? for years . the light has the nicest beam of any flood to throw I've ever seen .. no a single ring no matter where in the flood or throw ..the nicest you've ever seen ..Tint is a little bit neutral too . Seems most people have seen the 2 wire version of these and almost never seen the 4 wire ones like you and I have ...I've never seen the base so i don't know what it looks like .....No one has ever said they knew what it was .....
