Well, if it’s gotta be one of those, I’d definitely say the Ultrafire. But, don’t be surprised if a few folks come up with some better choices in the same price range soon. Cuz that’s what we do around here. :student:
That C8 is so much less good then a Convoy you need a driver and led to make it something you want to use (mine came with LatticeBright led instead of Cree.) After a baking session to change the color to copper, a new warm tint LED and a new BLF A6 driver I now like it a lot. But stock I never touched it.
I have this brown zoomie
It had a genuine Cree emitter and I like its design and feel.
Also very cheap and one of the few cheap lights that actually had a Cree LED in there.
EDIT: OOH yeah ReManG is right, a copper version of this arrived today, very cool little light! Beautiful tint and beautiful light. This si a no brainer, thanks for reminding me of the coupon ReManG, I am going to order a black one to complete the X5/X6 set since I see this as a X4
EDIT2 and ordered, thanks again!
I agree with David, if it has to be one of those i’d go for the C8. It probably has fake leds and a poor driver but if that’s your first led flashlight you’ll probably be surprised. I don’t think the LuxPro would be able to compete by far. That’s if it works - ’cause it’s a bit too cheap for what it claims to be…
Now if you can deal with 18650 Li-Ion batteries, i would suggest you save a few bucks and get a ‘real’ Convoy light, the S2+. Compact, robust, genuine led, decent driver and very bright. You wont be sorry.
Thanks manG i added that light to my list. Thanks too pat, i’m worried now about the flimsy LEDS, and drivers. hope mines are legit, they look legit according to the REAL vs fake LED comparison.
