Which shape/size is best for use on driver and led work, which vendor?
Do I assume correctly that you’re talking about a Hakko 936?
I have the Hobby King copy, think they use the same tips as the Hakko
Suggest one of these:

Fasttech has a super pointy hakko tip: http://www.fasttech.com/products/0/10003529/1260008-900m-t-i-straight-soldering-iron-tip for really cheap. They also have a broad angled one: https://www.fasttech.com/p/1058901 — bit big for small electronics. What they shipped me was a hakko 900m-t-k, in spite of the product description not mentioning it.
I get soldering tips for my Aoyue 936 from SRA in Mass. They ship super fast less than a week. KD also has them if you are not in a rush.
I use the AOT-I Solder Iron Tip T-I for driver repairs

Thanks men, the tip that came with the station is real pointed like an ice pick, figured one with more of a flat tip would be better. That tip from SRA is $13 bucks with shipping. Will probably try to go ahead and use the pointed tip now and wait on one from China.
KD has the same ones as SRA for much cheaper ($2.23 with free shipping)but they take a couple weeks to get.

I have made hundreds of lights and pointed tip is the way to go.
OK, if the pointed is best I will just use the one I have, thanks.
I bought a set of these for my 936 station. they work pretty good. Used them a few times already.
Woohoo 100th post lol
