Why the height difference in the acebeam pokelit versions?

Does anyone know why there is a height/length difference between the pokelit ti crack and the other versions?

1 Thank

Because the CNC mill operator was on Crack?

I have the Green, Gray and the Squiggly Blue one you have here and the Gray one is shorter than the other 2.
So that Cracky one must really look giant if put next to the Gray.
All the heads are the same size.
Are the springs different on Crack model?

2 Thanks

Unno. I’d side-by-side the heads, tubes, and tailcaps, and see where the more/less is coming from. Should narrow down the answer.

1 Thank

Head and tailcap seems to be the same size. But when i test the spring tension and battery-to-tube ration it is the same…
The Ti crack always starts on low, the others have mode memory, so maybe… i don’t know.

1 Thank

Probably they aren’t in the same straight line, and because of the angle and the lens of the camera… !?

Yeh, I noticed the modes. The 2AA Pokomon also starts on low (low/high, so not an issue), and the gray 1AA has modemem. My squiggly one also starts on low like the 2AA (low/med/high, so a little more tedious if I want to crank it up).

Could just stack 'em against a wall head-down and rest a ruler/pencil/etc. across the tops.

1 Thank

Nope, there is a measurable height difference. Best guess: ookelit without mode memory (starts on low) is taller.

Makes no sense.
Mode memory is a driver difference, either hardware or more likely just software.
The other Titanium Blue Squiggler finish is same size and it has no mode memory.
The battery tube is longer on your Crack model just as my Gray version tube is a small bit shorter.
Could be different factories involved. Or just production revisions.

1 Thank

I had a Ti blue squiggly one WITH mode memory. Seems like the manufacturing is inconsistent.

Hum, that’s peculiar. My orange and crack Ti are the same size. They both measure 94.4mm from bezel to button.

Your orange has writing on it (cct 5000k cri 90) that mine doesn’t have. When did you purchase it?

1 Thank

Mines got that same writing all over the head.

I am Not Pleased.

Durimg the 11.11 deals, so recently. From their official aliexpress site, not from their website.

I have a copper and a titanium, both gifts from Acebeam to reviewers.

The copper has a 2mm longer battery tube. It isn’t quite enough that I can fully tighten the head with a real protected 14500[1] installed. It functions with that battery, but might not be fully waterproof. The tail spring and PCB look a little different between the two.

[1] Lately, many manufacturers are labeling a protected 14430 as a 14500, which fits nicely in AA battery boxes

My orange is older than yours by about a year I think. Ti crack is newer, AliExpress official store.
