Why would anyone buy a Nitecore EA4...

… when you can get a Lightmore FA4!!!

This brought a smile to my face so I thought I would share it with you guys.
Even the packaging looks… familiar.

LOL! Nice! Too expensive to even consider this one. Interesting supporting 4x14500's.

I’d suggest you take a look at these two
But to be honest i wouldn’t have any of them, i prefer my Lumintop SD10 (Lots! & Lots! & Lots! Of battery options) or my new (3 days old) sunwayman D40A.

Actually, I have an Nitecore EA4W. I just thought it was too funny not to post. I’ve seen copied lights before, but not one so blatant a name and package as this.
Honestly, I don’t think I could’ve come up with a funnier name than Lightmore for Nitecore.

I don’t know about anybody else, but I own one because of BLF peer pressure.

Dang, that box looks spot on, eh? We know how Nitecore feels about MAP, but I would love to know how they feel about the theft of intellectual property.

Thanks for posting…

LOL, good one :D!

Ooh the button even has a silver bezel:

it has more battery options, and seems it uses 2S2P configuration.

Good catch. With 14500’s @ 8.4V, this just might work with MT-G2. Hmm…

I have a bad idea. Or a good one.

The stealing/copying of IP seems to be par for the course in this industry (and in China particularly.)

I don't agree with it, but at the same time I'm not going to shed any tears for Nitecore in this instance due to the crappy way they've handled the switch boot issues on the EA4. Serves them right!

Does the battery button swell up when the batteries fart, sorry I meant to say pass gas?

The thing is, rumor has it, that Nitecore themselves have stolen plenty of IP ;)!
So its kind of ironical, to say the least, to see such ripoff product sold by someone else, hence the wondering about what could be the reaction of Nitecore :D!

+1000 , in fact I’m so put off NiteCore, I probably will never buy another light from them! But I do like the EA4 design it has a hefty feel in the paw.

Lightmore FA4 Pioneer. Man, you gotta love the sense of humor there!

I wonder if Nitecore is making it themselves? You never know over there...

Looks good. But I that $30+ price range is too much for me for such a small FL.

Actually it's a lot of light for the money - if it's any good. I guess all things are relative but high-output 4AA lights competing with Li-Ion models didn't even exist a short time ago, let alone in the sub $40 range. Of course we don't know where corners may have been cut on this "fake".

Don't get me wrong, I like my EA4 a lot, but I'm just disappointed with the handling of the issues. And I'm still in doubt about the engineering of the heatsinking. The FA4 may be worth closer to $40 than the "premium" EA4 is to it's MAP of around $70.

We won't know until someone reviews one I guess.

I paid only 50-60 dollars for my EA4’s awhile back. I would not touch this!

I think I paid $53 for my EA4. If this knockoff has a decent driver I might be interested in getting one or two as gifts. But it probably doesn’t have a driver or user interface anywhere near as good as the real thing. I don’t want that same 5 mode, PWM-laden, disco driver that you find in 90% of all flashlights these days. Seems like that’s where that extra $20 is going.
