WildTrail WT90 - SBT90.2 1800m+ throw 90mm 3x 21700 With Texas_Ace driver

Nice but the driver puts me off. TA stuff seems naff.

Thank you for the heads up and and update TA. THat is all i need, like you said would rather wait 2, 3 more weeks and get a smooth running light. All i needed was a hopeful shipdate so i can plan my money appropriately…

Also, do you have an idea about how we will be contacted? or will it just go live and we head to the site / alix page to buy?

The buy page will go live publicly, most likely a coupon code for the group buy but they have not told me how that will work yet.

The first 25 silver orders will get the ones that are ready to ship, those after that will have to wait until the next batch it ready in a month or so. They will check the silver orders with the first 25 names in this thread to see who gets the first ones.

ROFLOL

lol

That is a solid move on their part, and it is appreciated. Looking forward to it!

4.7K's will be pretty bright in green and probably the same amps I measured, about 800 uA, still a bit high. 9-10K with green should still be bright.

Yep, thats what I told them.

Well hopefully this isn’t another weeklong hold up, if their planning on using 4.7k, and both you and Tom are knowing they should use 9k-10k… I know nothing about this btw, im just tryng to follow along. I do know business a little though, and know how something simple can easily hold up a product launch 1 week, 2 weeks. Something like needing to order 9k resistors Next week, after they try the 4.7l… anyway, things easily snowball, thats why new product and GB’s are always a little late, but i think most people here understand that. But this would suck, considering you have already told them 4.7k probably will not be satisfactory…

It depends on the exact LED’s they are using as they all have different Vf’s.

That said I don’t think they have ordered the PCB’s yet, so it is a simple change to swap the resistor at this point, the parts are super common and should not cause a delay because of the component selection. The real issue is delivery and assembly.

Worst case the 4.7 would work, not ideal but also not unheard of. It would still take around 1.5 years to drain 21700 cells with them. I prefer 2+ years but 1.5 is still long enough that most will check the light before then or lock it out before storage.

is there a list of names?

The silver looks great

I have not pulled out the first 25 yet but will when the page goes live. You won’t have to wait too long for the next batch though.

:+1:

Just got word they will be using 10k resistors in the switches. :+1:

Oh wow that is awesome :+1: I mean, based on what I read from you guys that sounds awesome lol

Too late for this light, but I have many lights with green switch leds and it would be nice and different if another colour is used. A colour that has almost the same efficiency/visibility as green and is easy to source in 0603 package is cyan. I have several versions, 490nm, 500nm, 510nm, got them on aliexpress, they all look nice.

Interesting idea, I also have a lot of green and really liked the look of the yellow in the prototype but it used a lot more power.

Blue is what I wanted in this light actually but they went with green.

Cyan is a good idea, nice change of pace and if you say the efficiency is about the same win win.

So silver… it’s not coated at all, or is it clear ano?

Straight aluminum will oxidize

It is clear ano but without bead blasting so you can still see some of the machine marks.

I would be all in for a black anodized or silver one, whichever is most available.
