Fixed my Onkyo TX-SR606 receiver today. I’m no expert but I know a bad cap when I see it. Also replaced the larger one next to the blown one while I was there.

New caps

This thing sucked to get apart & back together. Front panel had some issues and needed to clean out volume signal knob cause it didn’t work. Display was going dim after a second on highest brightness. Also my main issue was 5min of static from its initial power up. Man this thing runs hot and is the reason for all its flaws. And yes I have it choked out in a small hole where it cant vent well. Is what it is… And this was the second time I have replaced caps on the HDMI board (not pictured) Another really bad issue with these 2009-2012 models. But I was determined to not buy another so I dug into it.

Operation was a success. Vol knob works, Display is Bright and readable. And so far no Static. HDMI shows the Onkyo Setup OSD but it dont like my PC and 4K resolution to TV. So, no HDMI switching.
