Worlds smallest LED 0.65x0.35x0.2mm

Any idea what it’s used for? Any specs at all besides the size? I’m curious whether it is a powerhouse in a tiny package or just the tiny package.

Can it take 10A tho?

I found the LED by tracing back the location of that second pic. HERE.

It is a 10mA LED. Not gonna wow anybody on output.

Ratings don’t matter, just let it pull 10A

10ma, really impressive for that micro led

I think world smallest Led is in the oled screen of samsung
2560*1440*3(3 basic color) led in a 5.1” screen

I just tried to calculate the surface brightness based on DIE-size (~0.0194mm^2) and luminus intensity (typ. 175mcd @ 10mA). To get the DIE-size one needs to count pixels in the datasheet image…
So only 9cd/mm^2 (old XP-G2 reached 200cd/mm^2). So it definitely wont throw.

OLED is amazing tech, but this is a discrete LED package. I don’t know if it’s the smallest, but I haven’t seen any smaller.

This is standard 0201(imperial)/0603(metric) SMT package:

Just search for 0201 LED.
Digikey sells some:

Those are used in model community - you can buy prewired leds as they might be little tricky to be soldered

As mentioned by altonx, that's right, they're standard 0201 package LEDs and are actually fairly common and many manufacturers make them. Unfortunately it seems like 01005 is a little too small for LEDs, but if you do want smaller, you can just buy the LED chip!

For example, here's one just 0.2 x 0.2 x 0.25mm :) Good for 10-15mA. I'm sure someone can find even smaller ones!
