Would I be a bit barmy to want to build an LED lightbar for a 4x4?

I was watching a YouTube vid the other day and I swear the Jeep on there had an LED light bar on the front. Well it got me thinking, would this be a cost affective and light emitting effective way of get some decent off road driving lights?

Initial idea is an aluminium bar 1-1.5” tall and about 2 foot long with as many XM-L’s as you can fit on it.

Are there any good single mode drivers for this sort of thing, or are we talking DD with some sort of volt reduction?

Really open to ideas or even advice on if it’s even worth attempting at all.

I thought I’d seen sign of one somewhere, but I looked here and on CPF and couldn’t find it this morning.
