I have a small sun originally modded by Relic38 to handle a mtg2 driven by a dry driver at 6 volts which was had beautiful beam But I. Wanted a thrower. So I installed a direct drive fet with the zeiner mod from mountain electronics and in the process I fried the emitter so Iam debating if o should install all xhp50 so I was wondering if anyone had any input or have tried this mod yet?Thanks in advance

Haven’t tried myself but was under the impression that the XHPs where more floody than the MT-G2. I have this light waiting for it’s turn on a new driver design but I only have MT-G2s and XHP-70s to test with.
I was also under the impression the xhp50 could throw I would like to find out well let’s see I should have the emitter by Fridat.

Since I can’t go through and post because it keeps saying file to big even trough photo bucket, first I got the small sun from Relic38 who did a beautiful job modding it with a mtg2 and a dry driver and a 180 turbo step down and then I tried to change to an xhp50 and buggered up real good so vesture of blood worked his magic with a direct driver any how follow the links 
The end of the road is about 300 meters and the lightl was still going it did have a small “t:in the center where the 4 dies matches up but at anything over 50 yards it was not noticable
